Hey guys.. i think i have a superpower. Well I don’t know if its a super power but I can understand 2 languages. I heard this magical power is called being bilingual. I think, I have that.. when my mom tells me I sit, I obviously sit. But i know that when I’m told “SIENTATE” i know that it means the same thing. 

And when I’m told to go get my ball i know “Bola” means to go get my ball too. Turns out humans call things differently. But i’ve ever since i was a baby i was told things in two ways. Now i can shift from one to another with no problem. 

I GUESS I AM SUPER and of course fabulous. ;) 

Sunday, I love Sunday’s! Its the day all the family is home, we watch movies and play outside. But today was different, I got in the car and already had a funny feeling in my tummy that i was headed somewhere other than the beach or dog park. Something was up and I clearly wasn’t having it. 

But remember the papers I was telling you guys about last week? You know, the rabies shot thingy I was curious about? WELL GUESS WHAT, MY BUTT GOT POKED, and it was not fun!  Turns out a rabies shot is when you get this sharp needle that goes through your fur and feels like a pinch. The only time I remember feeling this amount of pain was when a bee stung me in the backyard.. but thats a different story. Any who! It was only a second long, but still, totally not what i expected. 

God, my butt was up in the air and i felt so embarrassed… But Dr.Kerins was so nice and gave me treats after i was all done! He said I did really good and kept calm the whole time :)

Just Kidding! As much as shots sounds fun (which I'll never know) I keep hearing my  mom talking about shots. She keeps looking at this one paper she has on the counter. It has some dates on it I think but I can't really make sense of them. She said something about my rabie shot being due, what ever that means. I was adopted at 2 months and my memory of the vet is extremely vague so I'm not to sure what to expect. That's where I  feel I'm going next Sunday. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.  

Hey guys! This is Mary, Tobys mom. Toby is out for a walk right now with his grandfather (papa Xoy) and Toby seems to have left his Tumblr page open so i’ll take this moment to tell the personal story as to how and why he ended up here in the Xoy house hold. 

In May 2015 the Xoy house hold went through a very tough situation,the passing of my grandfather. My mother entered a strong depression which made her miss work, stay home in bed, not shower, not eat,but time passed and slowly she was able to get back on her feet but she never fully recovered. As the months passed by my sister, dad and I were looking for ways to help her out and that’s when it hit me...a PUPPY! You see, there are no children in the family, I’m 20 years old and I’m the youngest. We needed someone to brighten up our home and a puppy seemed like the best idea ever! I shared the fabulous idea with my mom and she said absolutely not. But I didn’t give up and before she knew it, she had a little waggling tail running around the house. He stole her heart and was able to be the bundle of joy and the sun shine she needed. My mother would smile with every shoe Toby would hid under the bed and she found walking him very relaxing. I can honestly say he pulled her out of a very dark place. 

In May 2016, another storm hit the Xoy house hold. I was diagnosed with Cushing Syndrome which is a rare case that occurs when a tumor is found in the pituitary glad in the brain. The whole summer was blood work and scans. I would come tired from the doctor and hospital visits and even though i had the full support of my family, I felt extremely alone and with no motivation to do anything, I lost a job, friends, and myself by locking myself up. 

 but there was someone who never left me. Someone who would wait for me at my door when I came home from the hospital, who would lick my face until I got off my bed to go outside, someone who would not judge me for eating that tub of ice cream... that was Toby. I remember breaking down one day and just laid there and cried and he ran as fast as he could to lick my tears as if he wanted to make them stop. As he licked my face he too started to cry and we just laid there till I was ready. 

Months have passed by and I can say I’m not feeling 100% BUT I’m very optimistic with the fact that the MRI and CT scans that have been done have shown to be completely cleared. But if this were to come and haunt me again, I know I'm not alone. I have my little sunshine to cheer me up.

Hello everyone! I wanted to interrupt your day really quick to talk about... ADOPTION! This is a little video my mommy took of my first day home. After exploring the house and meeting my family I knew this wasn’t just my new house, this was my HOME. 

I was adopted from Wright Way Rescue. “Its mission is to reduce the number of homeless pets euthanized in the Midwest each year through an adoption program, community education, promotion of spaying and neutering, and a veterinary medicine program. It continues to save pets from rural animal control facilities where they are at a high risk of euthanasia, and instead offer them a second chance at a loving home in the Chicagoland area. “

I was given a second chance and so were my other 8 siblings. It makes me sad when i think all the other puppies that are still waiting to find a home, especially when many people chose to buy puppies. It’s not their fault, its the fault of greedy people who like to make money off of our cuteness. Unfortunately due to people buying instead of adopting many of us don’t make it out.. 

people don’t really like to adopt because they don’t know where we come from, our medical history, or what breed we really are. Sometimes older dogs have been abused and look kinda funky but I promise we all have loving hearts ready to be the best listeners and best friends you could ever dream! All we ask for is a chance!
