While there are many shows I enjoy, one of my favorite stories is The Walking Dead video game from Telltale Studios. The basics of the plot are the same as the show but follow a different group of people. It starts out with an escaped criminal in Lee Everett. He wanders around the apocalypse when eventually he comes across the second character in Clementine. Eventually the story transfers from Lee to Clementine and follows her experience growing up in a foreign world. I used my experience from this story in helping guide the way in which I thought about how to convey my frustrations of the show.

One of my favorite shows of all time is Day 5 from Rooster Teeth. The show is similar to The Walking Dead but with a slightly different premise. Instead of walkers, zombies, or rival gangs, the apocalypse is about sleeping. For an unknown reason, falling sleep will make you stay asleep forever. The show is centered around two main characters. The first is a kid who stays up all night to play video games so he misses the initial event. The second is a drug addict who is just coming off of a bender and wanders to a drug store when he realizes no one is outside. The show is fantastic and was only greenlit for one season and was never extended which is awful because it ends on a cliffhanger.

A genre detail that resonates with my audience is a really simple one, mystery and suspense. If an episode ends without asking a question or initiating conflict, then it is extremely difficult to transition to the next episode. Many producers and authors have talked about the cause and effect idea in writing. If something happens in your story, it will effect everything, so explore how it impacts the story.

Fandoms are created from content produced on the screen or in the prints. They can form on any platform but they typically stay within designated communities. They will label their communities something relating to the show so it is easy to find for others. As producers, employees, and PR individuals, we can use these communities to gauge how the audience is taking the news.

Leaving a show on a cliffhanger is always a gamble in our modern industry. With shows getting cancelled left and right, leaving your show on a cliffhanger is good to keep people wanting to know more but leaving without finishing a story is heartbreaking. I have seen many shows end on a cliffhanger accidentally due to being cancelled. Unfortunately for this project, it too was one of those shows.

Content creation went very smoothly for me. I have done some content creation prior to this class. There was a time where I thought I might try my hand at developing an online presence. After a month of trying, I discovered the difficulties of content creation. The most difficult aspect of content creation, for me, was the consistency of posting. There are days where I don't feel like posting or I don't have anything to post about. However, I need to get a post out so sometimes I would find others in the genre to use as inspiration.

I have many tricks up my sleeves but the most important one has been the ability to look at your work from an outside perspective. Sometimes the most important revisions can only be seen if you take a step back. The actual form of the document, the shape and size, can determine how someone reads your work. Send your work to a friend or family member and have them glance over it. They will tell you what is wrong almost immediately.

Using my own process and results can help show someone how to create. You can describe something till you are blue in the face. However, if you show someone by doing it, they are way more likely to understand. Even if they don't fully understand why they are doing it, just repeating your process will help them visualize and comprehend how to do it. Results do not always help someone understand but the process will help everyone repeat the steps to success.

Being able to check yourself and your work is the key to making good work. If you do not have a good process for revising your work, then you will produce a lot of poor work. A good revision process is how you get to the next level of creating. This isn't just limited to writing, but in anything you do. Take a break from creating and step back. There is nothing like being able to truly appreciate your creation by just stepping back.

I look over my work many times. Even before I get to the final step of my process. I double check my work. I triple check my work. I'll write a section and rewrite just a minute later. The final step in my process is reading my work from start to finish. If I can make it through my work without any pauses, breaks, or stutters, then I have made a complete work.

The data elements within my space can help answer my research question. I can use the data and display it in multiple purposeful graphs to show the answer to my research question. Likes, comments, and quote tweets are useful in demonstrating what the audience wants, needs, and is used to. The answer to my research question is within those data points and it will show how the audience reacts to the content.

Graphing data depends on what you are looking for in your data and what data you have available. I would suggest only making graphs for each creator and not comparing the creators' data. If there are different types of posts, then split the data into each category to show a possible pattern. Data and graphs can be used to highlight something but also hide valuable information. Understand what each graph does and it will help you immensely.

The data that matters in my space is likes, comments, and quote tweets. These metrics help the creators and analyzers to better understand how the audience is reacting to the content. Likes can be viewed as a passive interaction while comments and quote tweets are viewed as direct communication. Interaction is necessary for a creator to survive in their genre but communication can help fortify the audience's connection with the creator.
