Dick is Hawks. He’s Roy’s pretty bird
Obviously they don’t parallel exactly, but it just clicked in my head bc I love dabihawks and dickroy both. They are very different ships usually, but in an au where Touya doesn’t become a villain, I could totally see him being similar to Roy.
Dick and Hawks are different in so many ways but the similarities they do share are tickling my brain crazy.
Okay, YJA au where Roy escaped stasis when taken by Cadmus a few years in. He eventually finds his way home only to be confronted with Ollie and his clone (Will) and he’s hurt. He’s hurt that Ollie never realized he’d been replaced and runs off without making his presence known. He’s on his own. And, with a new found spite fueling him, he’ll do what it takes to get back at those who wronged him (including his “father”).
Instead of being like 5 years older than Dick, Roy is now only 1-2 years older.
Everything happens as in the show, except Cheshire never finds Original Roy in the monastery. He’s made a name for himself in the underbelly and maybe joined up with a group of villains (y’know to Dabimax). He never speaks his name, only his alias, “Roy” is a weapon he’ll take great pleasure in deploying against Ollie. Who knows, perhaps he may even… dance.
Stuff happens in between, Dick is well into his early almost mid twenties when a new threat comes a knocking. One that threatens the Team, including his little brother.
Dick is sent undercover to infiltrate and that’s where he meets the infamous Arsenal.
And Arsenal, who met Robin maybe once (I don’t remember the exact details of when Roy was taken rn) is shocked to see how he’s grown. He makes for a very pretty bird, but one who is nevertheless an obvious spy. Still, Roy can have some fun with him.
Little do they know, their lives are going to change forever and it isn’t all fun.
