Okay for context go read this post to understand more about what I'm talking about.
Context TLDR: Ambrosius drinks a special wolfsbane potion that makes it so he doesn't transform during full moons but he misses drinking it one night and transforms and cant transform back. Then goes to look for the golden trio. This is during Deathly Hallows.
So the original idea was that Ambrosius finds the trio before they get caught by snatchers. But I thought of a, in my opinion, better idea.
Instead of Ambrosius finding the trio before getting caught, he finds Ron after Ron has left the other two. Ambrosius and Ron would travel together, I think they'd stick to staying in muggle areas to avoid drawing attention to themselves and whatnot with the occasional dip into whatever wizarding community was nearby.
To me it just feels like a better tie in for Ambrosius being present during the horcux hunt then him just like showing up outta nowhere. Let me know what you think about it.

I probably wont make it canon but I keep thinking about Wallace becoming a Death Eater. I don't think he believes in the ideology but he'd like the feeling of being "strong" or important. He definitely gets indoctrinated into it, with the promise of his opinion actually mattering and how he'd be around "like minded people".
I feel like its believable, it's not like I think the Molly and Arthur are bad parents but they have so many children that it'd be hard to pay equal attention to them all, and with Wallace being in Slytherin he's surrounded by people who've grown up around the whole pure-blood stuff so, I don't think its to far fetched.
I've been thinking about Wallace a lot these past few days, not just this but other things too, like what a loser he is.(I say this affectionately.)
I finished the interior of this build, now i just need to do the back and fix up anything i don't like (ft. my laziness bc I don't wanna crop the pictures and my friend who ruined one with a text(joking i love him))

I don't know if I'll go through with this but its something to think about, Let me know of any questions or anything!(i added a cut because this turned out to be a bit longer than i thought it would)
So, initially when the golden trio goes to hunt for horcruxes I had the thought that Ambrosius would go with them, but thinking more on that I decided not to go through with it because at that point he would be a werewolf and it would be difficult/unsafe to bring him along because they would need to brew wolfsbane potions for him. So instead he just continues to attend Hogwarts.
But I recently have been playing around with the idea of Ambrosius getting stuck in his wolf form.(i think it would be fun to expand the current werewolf lore a bit)
My main idea is that a select few of the Hogwarts teachers/staff would know about Ambrosius' lycanthropy. The staff who would know are Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, and Madam Pomfrey. Snape would be in charge of making the wolfsbane potions during the school year.
I think when attending seventh-year Snape would continue making the wolfsbane potions, but he might start experimenting with it. My thought process behind this is that Snape wouldn't want the Carrow twins to find out Ambrosius is a werewolf cause they might try to recruit him or force him into becoming a Death Eater.
Now whyyy would Snape care? a few reasons, 1. He is still a "good guy" so he probably wouldn't want anyone else, especially a student, to get mixed in the whole like war, at least no more then they already are. 2. He might see himself in Ambrosius so he would feel bad for him. Both are half-blood Slytherins who's best friend is the brightest witch of her age and muggle-born, and he wouldn't want history to repeat itself. I don't know maybe he also feels bad for Ambrosius.(I do think that Snape probably wouldn't give experimental potions to an unknowing student but at the same time, I think he wouldn't care about using a student as a guinea pig)
So anyway, Snape would probably do some potion stuff and eventually one of the experiments would make it so Ambrosius wouldn't transform at all.(also Ambrosius would notice a difference in the potions effect/ taste wise but he'd chop it up to either Snape hating him or being too busy and messing up the potion, or both) Then Snape would keep giving him that brew.
Eventually Snape might get called off to Voldemort before the full moon night and he wouldn't have enough time to be able to give Ambrosius the potion, so he'd go off to the forbidden forest to transform and I guess the past times he wasn't able to transform would catch up to him causing him to stay in wolf form even after the full moon passes.
Now as for him being sound of mind during this, I don't know! Either he's fully lucid and only goes wolf mode during full moons only or he's always in wolf mode with spots of lucidity or lucid with spots of wolf mode. I think each can bee interesting in their own way. I don't know though this is just an idea.
This is canon now because i cant stop thinking about it. I still need to think more about the timeline but Ambrosius would eventually track down the trio before they get caught and taken to Malfoy Manor.
he'd carry around his wand so when he does find the trio they know its him.
I'm still thinking about what actually will happen at Malfoy Manor.
