Kiddo who has a hard time regressing, even when they really need to. So tired and frustrated and in need of some type of release but unable to regress, getting upset and tearing up because they just can’t. It’s not easy for them, they can’t just put a paci in and slip into their regression. Maybe they know why maybe the don’t, but it doesn’t take away from how hurt they feel about it.
Kiddo who struggles to regress and carer who knows. Carer who tries to make them comfortable and comforts them, telling them it’s okay if they can’t regress or if they only regress partially. Carer who holds them and rocks them and gets their stuff ready for them. Who helps them regress whenever they can, but never holds it against them the times it doesn’t work.

Iron Lung is very gore-y with lots of blood, body horror, anticipation dread,claustrophobia, vomit (very brief), cult talk and can get very scary with loud noises/lots of yelling! It doesn't really have jump scares but, is scary in a slow burn way which, can be even scarier!
So if those things are squicks definitely best to wait to watch when in a bigger headspace 💖💖
It's a VERY good film but definitely not one to watch while tiny ;w;

Oh!
So the tldr is that Iron Lung is about a future where people colonized space (Mars and other planets) but one day something called "The Quiet Rapture" happened where every star and planet just vanished so only the people on space stations/ships to live! Making resources low!
There was however, a moon that had started forming an ocean made entirely of blood. The COI (Consolidation of Iron, the main "group" of survivors) have a man named Simon (Convict) held prisoner due to his actions with the cult of Eden (Eden being one of the largest space station, it is known to hold the last living tree so, Eden became these zealots for the tree. Simon was in the cult since he was a young child so he was brainwashed into doing some...horrific things) and well...prisoners do task the COI don't wanna do.
Simon is made to go into the blood ocean by the COI in a submarine, told that he will be "free" once he completes the task of surveying the floor of the blood ocean!!
I won't go into the graphics but, the ocean isn't as empty as the COI thought...there's something alive down there and the COI is forcing Simon to find out! And for poor Simon...whatever is down there wants him
Bloodymary wise, a lot of people ship them/have them in AUs where they exist together because both Grace and Simon are sacrificial lambs who just want to live but were forced to "find a way to save humanity"! (And people want Simon to have a soft/gentle ending because his true end is anything but gentle 😭)

• surprisingly very easy to put down for a nap! All you gotta do is read him his fave book and make promises of the fun to be had after he's had his sleep!
• he has a hard time expressing when he's feeling jealous or upset! He'll just got all sullen, a permanent pout on his lips and he makes an effort to not look at you at ALL. This last all of an hour before he's weeping and apologizing because he just doesn't have the words to express why he was feeling that way!
• when he's in an older headspace (like, kiddo/young tween) all he wants is to be outside! He wants to play in the forest or chop wood!! Heck he even likes going bowling, definitely needs that lil guard rail thing but he has fun♡
• sooo many layers! You got his onesie, his undershirt, his regular shirt and sometimes a sweater! It's kinda a pressure stim for him, like a hug that doesn't burn!
• speaking of touch, tiny Lars allows only one type of touch and that is when he holds their shirt/hem of their shirt. It's nor quite a full touch but, it soothes Lars, knowing that he's holding them but without the anxiety ♡♡
