Another one! here’s elkie!! They’re a human, but in Imagi (the world in which this story is set, alongside our own) humans are used to farm Julius Ruby. A stone that’s highly sought after, as it massively amplifies magic powers, regardless of the magic users talents and knowledge. The trade off, is that it’s exceedingly painful when it becomes overcharged, and the ruby feeds off the host like a parasite. When the host is emotionally unstable, the energy inside becomes unstable too, and this can lead to both the host, and people around the host being harmed, or even killed.Â
Julius Ruby reacts best to emotions and feelings, which means that the power of love can literally turn the tide of a hard battle, but the power of other emotions can influence the outcome in both positive and negative ways as well. Julius Ruby hosts, often try to keep their affliction a secret, as people may try to take advantage, tricking the host into feeling affection for them, in return for unlimited powers and energy.
The text on the picture is written from the POV of one of my other ocs! It just made the writing flow better and I think it’s more fun to read this way :D
Saturn is a Siren, mer-people who take great pride in singing and performing. They are also born genderless, and assign themselves when they get older. Every siren has the ability to shape shift the lower half of their body, but since their city is underwater, they spend most of their time in their fish forms at home. They can also grow to the size of a whale (making dragon folk very wary of them) but can choose to stop growing once they’ve reached a certain size. Usually, only the sirens in power make the decision to grow that large, while on average, most stay the size of an average human. Sirens are very peaceful, but their reputation (the idea that they lure people to their deaths) means they are looked down upon by other species, pushed back from the cities and forests to live underwater 90% of the time.
