“Alone?” That was a surprise. Alasdair had assumed that Celine would have been popular among the slaves in the cells, one sought after by many of the masters and mistresses that would wander the halls. “Here I thought you were a popular one down there, little one. You’re at least out of the cells today it seems. Doing work for the chateau?”

After the storm Xavier made a B line for the cells. He walked straight to the one he knew and smiled. “Celine. Sweetheart, I’ve come to take you out for a bit. Get you food and a bath.” Getting a guard to open the cell he gave a smiled reaching his hand out. “Being in this cold cell is no fun in winter.” The master had come to adore the girl and wanted to spend as much time as he could with her. Keep her happy and warm and protected.

“things are well,” alasdair assures celine. it’s precious to see her light up, to see the soft pearls of her cheeks redden just enough. “i’m happy to hear that others have been taking good care of you. that’s what you deserve, someone to treat you like the beautiful doll you are.” he leans down to press a feather light kiss to her forehead. “you really are a precious gem among those in the rough.”

“There’s absolutely nothing to it” Eve reassured as she carefully took the others hand and uncurled her fingers, the she wolf inspecting the palm she was met with. “Well, the good news is that you have a long lifeline, I can see it on this line here…But the break at the bottom suggests that you have a cross roads on where to go” she hummed.

“Now what makes you think you’re a burden? If you don’t remember, I came to you. Do you think I’d be doing that if I thought you were a burden?” Angus wouldn’t allow anyone he liked to feel as though they weren’t cherished. “Y’know, I have some spare decorations. You could pick out a couple and take them back to your cell, if you’d like?” He pulled Celine close, tucking her under his arm. “Not too far, love. Five more minutes, I think. Can you make that? I forget sometimes that humans tire a bit easier than some of us.”

“Read your palm…” she explained “I want to see what your past and future tell me about you” she said innocently, flashing a bright and friendly smile “My mother taught me how to do so.”

Alasdair would have easily recognized the voice no matter where they’d been. “Celine,” he said with a soft smile. “Look at you, darling as ever. It’s been some time since I’ve last seen you.” He walked over, extending a hand out to brush his knuckles against her cheek. “How are you doing?”

“Looking for something?” The girl seemed a bit lost, but with a mission on finding something. The elder wondered if she was getting a gift or on an errand for someone. “No worries. It would be a shame to break something. Just don’t daze off too much.”

Walking by windows filled with lights and Christmas cheer, Evanora scanned them hoping to find some gifts. When all else failed she went to an antique shop. Best place to find what she was looking for. As she walked through, her eyes looked at each piece. She had settled on some bright colored jewels, some old coins, and perhaps a crystal chandler? It did sparkle nicely. “Careful dear.” Her eyes moved from the item don to the person standing there. “You’re about to knock that porcelain over. And the rule of break it buy it still apply here.”

The door opened to give off a burst of heat compared to the cold outside but Alasdair could hardly tell the difference. As he walked into the magic shop, his eyes scanned around at the shelves, taking in the different odds and ends. This was the first time he’d visited the magic shop and while he did have a specific reason for coming today, he also wanted to admire the trinkets. Would it be insulting to call them trinkets? Maybe he’d avoid saying that. “My, my… everything in here is so… eclectic.” Alasdair mused as he slowly walked, fingers reached out to graze whatever was in his reach.

“I think we have enough time for both.” He’d rented her for the full amount of time he could, and while he certainly wanted to have some fun with her, that wasn’t all he was looking for. “Though I won’t push the issue, if that’s what you want. Are you excited for Christmas?” A segue that he hoped would bring them to a more cheerful conversation, if that’s what she wanted.

“Sorry means you did something wrong, doesn’t it? You haven’t done anything wrong.” While she thought that was how it went, she wasn’t entirely sure. The complexities of conversation still escaped her. “Mine’s Ambrosia.” A name, all they could have in these cells.

The hound understood that. In a place like this it was bound to happen one way or another. With or without consent. “Still. Would have been nicer for you to have that experience differently.” Hopefully the master wasn’t horrid or anything and was gentle with her. “Was it the master who ended up claiming you?”

“….how?” He scoffed softly, unable to resist the little smile that followed. “..I mean, who likes this..?”
