Favorite film of the year so far.

Have you ever wanted to program your own film festival? This is my imaginary fest, seven days of double features, with short films, trailers, and music videos mixed in with the films. Each pairing are films that are thematically in conversation with each other.

St Rooster Books’ line of nonfiction books is growing. My latest, TEXAS IS THE REASON: FIVE DECADES OF THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE just dropped last month and this July, Jerome’s next book on the first six Black Sabbath albums! If you’re a fan of 33 1/3, Devil’s Due and Cultographies then you know where we’re coming from with these loving dissections of our favorite films and bands. On the way, Jerome also has started work on a two volume Iron Maiden set and I’m working on Dark Hearts Americana, a book of profiles of American authors who brought a transgressive quality to their work-including Nelson Algren, Hubert Selby, Lydia Lunch, Kathy Acker, Jim Thompson, Flannery O’Connor, Henry Rollins and more.
