Thoughts about Finn on SNL?
I thought "Mike in Manhattan" was pretty clever, if you watched SitC. The Lumax joke was unbearable though, I covered my ears like trauma Mike. Suzie mention was great, as was the corny, "if you dated an Eleven" line and delivery. "I you wonder why Will isn't in this, he is actually still doing his coming out scene" was great. Of course it hurts that Will's sexuality storyline, instead of being revolutionary as we expected, was done so shitty, you can easily joke and laugh about it, but you can't and shouldn't just pretend this didn't happen. Of course it hurts what that means for Noah and what a good ST5 could have meant for Noah, but this is the grim reality. Let's not forget that. Let's never let the Duffers live that down. The truth will set us free.
Conformitygate mentioned!! It was good that this is now immortalized in pop culture, for the humiliation it brings the Duffers. And make no mistake, this will have actual consequences for them, as in studios not trusting them. Less money, less freedom, less respect. They smartly secured their deal before ST5 aired, but a deal signed isn't everything.
Also there was a pang of hurt at the conformitygate mention as it killed a little bubble of hope, I didn't know I had, or at least activated some undealt with grief.
Never will ST content ever be just fun, again, will it? 😟
The emperor skit was fantastic, I generally thought Finn was 🔥 Support Finn Wolfhard, he deserved so much better from ST as well!!
