My biggest hopes with this pllotline are:

One of the classic ninja parents pulls up, if even for just a brief cameo. (preferrably Maya if we wanna go back and maybe resolve some of that Seabound stuff between Nya and Maya)

They GOTTA acknowledge the fact that Frak and Arin were friends as kids, and Arin's parents had to have known Reginald, maybe a "long time no see" or something. Make them closer? Make Reginald maybe more avoidant, because he doesn't like the idea of them seeing a more vulnerable side of himself? Idk.

Where's Frak's mom? Can she pull up?

Give me ALL the juxtaposition between "dad who feels moved to change himself for the benefit of his son" and "parents who feel moved to change their daughter for the benefit of themselves."

PLEASE GIVE ME HEATWAVE AS A COUNSELOR THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY... Maybe bring back the Caregiver Bot

I know this plot is gonna end by episode 14 cus most of the interesting ideas end or happen by the 4th episode of a DR installment (Kai and Nya return in s1e4, Jay v. Nya in s2e14, Arin and Sora abandon Ras in s3e14, Jay gets his memories back in s4e4) but y'know I CAN STILL HOPE IT'S GOOD...

Specifically one thing in particular I see brought up a lot which is people calling it “A big middle finger to Disney.”

And maybe it is that. I don’t know Dana Terrace’s mind. But watching the pilot I get the sense that the feelings are more complicated than just an angry “hey, fuck you”.

There’s this moment I keep coming back to, over and over, of Frankie talking about her dreams of being an engineer for Park Planet, and specifically what she says about meeting “A real Gwen” in the park. She says to Andi, “That memory is still so vivid. And now, you make stuff that other people memories like that.”

Gwen and Park Planet’s other characters are really important to Frankie. They’re clearly one of the guiding sparks of her creative spirit; the things she makes and repairs look like those whimsical little characters. Even the earliest machine of hers we’ve seen, the little frog that hacks the claw machine(important enough to her that she’s kept that frog design for the more refined version she made/uses as an adult). She found inspiration and creativity in Park Planet’s art that has stayed with her, and she wants to be able to inspire something like that in other people someday, because it’s a fucking incredible feeling. And even if the world is cynical, and the corporate structure doesn’t grant or encourage that kind of opportunity, I don’t think Frankie is wrong or stupid for having those kinds of dreams. And I don’t think the show thinks that, either.

It feels, TO ME, like there’s a disappointment, almost a kind of… grief that informs Frankie’s writing. What if the thing that sparked your dreams doesn’t want to encourage them? What if the entity that made the art that shaped you so thoroughly being uninterested in you and the people you would love to share that with, and frankly seemed to be losing interest in making that kind of art anymore at all?

I feel like if it were just anger and resentment at being screwed over behind KOG, there wouldn’t be that element. It would feel a lot more mean-spirited. And I’m sure there IS anger, but it feels to me like there’s some disappointment, too, and maybe even some sadness. And at the end of the day, you have to have Cared about something to be disappointed.

I dunno. Maybe I’m wildly off-base and just projecting my own weird, complicated feelings onto this show, but I figured I’d type it up so it’s not just in my head anymore.

oh good lord, can you imagine if at one point some sexist little shit went up to her and was like “no girl has ever beaten me at this game” or “why are you here, girls suck at games” and oh it’s ON and she of course KICKS HIS ASS

Now I'm a sucker for time travel fics and I love all the ones about Zuko going back in time and making better decisions.. but I can't stop thinking about a time travel scenario where both Zuko and Aang die in their final battles and the spirits send them both back in time.

The ones I read usually have the whole gaang with their memories if they both die, but what if in this case, it's just Aang and Zuko. And they get sent back to the time Zuko kidnapped him in that blizzard. Because imagine being Katara and Sokka, looking for Aang because he was just taken by their current most annoying enemy right before a huge battle and when they find him he's.. besties with Zuko? Who now treats him like a younger brother? And Aang can firebend now? WHAT happened in that cave?

First your fave dominates an event - duh, obviously, she's the best. Then during the part of the show where the announcer is like "anybody in the audience want to challenge her for a fat stack of cash", somebody actually does. (Obviously a tourist.) It's some kid wearing like a beginner outfit from a McDojo... and he actually wins?And gets the cash! And then the event just ends!?

You're buzzing. It's clear that this is like a storyline or something. You can't wait for next week's show. Except that there isn't one, because - as you find out through the gossip mill - your fave was actually the local billionaires' daughter who was competing in secret. And also kayfabe might not exist. And now she's gone and the billionaire is blaming a demigod (who's back from the dead? I guess?) for kidnapping her.

So, how come that means no show this week or possibly ever? Well, the billionaire hired the promoter (and a random McDojo sensei) to go after the demigod to get back his daughter (your fave wrestler!) and the guy just... packed up his entire promotion and left.

Some months later the war that's been going on since your great-grandfathers days ends. You go to a peace parade. And there she is: Toph Beifong, the Blind Bandit, giving the new Fire Lord a noogie.
