“I guess I made a mistake.”
Tilly tried to say something back, yet couldn’t find the words. And she hated it. Hated that he always ended up leaving her grappling for what to feel or say or do. Hated that, if it hadn’t been for her feelings towards Ian, and her utter terror at how Rich made her feel in the past, maybe she wouldn’t have been opposed to this date. Maybe they would have reconnected from the start. Maybe that’s why she’d been picked to declare someone as attractive, for that chance. And instead she’d dragged Ian into this, and now Bailey was involved on Rich’s side, and Tilly couldn’t figure out what to do with Rich now that he was in front of her with no place for either of them to go until the date was over. All she could do though, was stare at him, hoping he’d give her something, anything, because she didn’t know what was supposed to happen from here.Â
