I’m very passionate about gothic literature… guess my favorite. I love dinosaurs and reptiles, as well as birds. My favorite kinds of characters are evil scientists and cowboys… a good portion of my ocs are either or. I mostly post fandom art, but I may once in a while post about my ocs here. I hop fandoms frequently and will only usually focus on one at a time.. infrequent posts to be expected as a result.

I’ve been working on a subspace sona, but something about what I have currently just feels off, I can’t really put my finger on it 😢 I think it may be the over use of red/brown? But I’m not exactly sure what to substitute it with, I really like the red/white/blue palette i have currently- this just feels chaotic though

if there was a single aspect of the glass scientists you have to criticize or appreciate what would it be?

I used to be big into the Glass Scientists back in its early days, I loved the style and I enjoyed the additional characters included; however, my main criticism lies within the story itself and its overall pacing.

My interest focuses on the original novel, that being the version I’m most familiar with- and although it’s my favorite, I am always open to seeing different versions and iterations … however, Glass Scientists feels more like a spinoff story inspired by gothic literature as a whole, rather than just J&H like I had thought when I first started reading it. Of course that is completely a-ok, however it sort of drove me away as the story progressed and the focus started to shift elsewhere. I found the pacing to be a bit difficult to follow along with as well, I never understood what the main “plot” was meant to be. I picked up on the small side-plots and enjoyed those for what they were, although I just couldn’t understand what it was all trying to build up to.

The characterization of most of the MC’s are fine, nothing to really write home about. If I remember correctly, most complaints about the characters resolve on the “woobification” of Hyde, and whilst I agree with that to some extent, it’s not much of a big deal. Being as obsessed with the original as I am, I will always have some sort of small dislike with each version.. but I do like the stories that aren’t just a 1-1 copy! All in all, I just wish the story was a bit more coherent and less all over the place (in my humble opinion)
