happy new year, and happy release day for black flap's second original song!! i can't stress this enough but oh my GOD it is so damn cool...!! i really recommend checking out the song lyrics yourself (especially if you know japanese) because there are so many cool wordings that i just couldn't find the words to translate into.. as always, feel free to point out mistakes with the translation and especially the line distribution! i think my hearing has gotten a little better, but once again i'm only very familiar with micchan's voice 😅

Translator's Notes

"I’ll burn a new memory into your mind with this finishing act" ← Originally 「新しい記憶にトドメ刺す舞台を」 in Japanese. 「記憶にとどめ」 means "to keep in mind", while 「トドメを刺す」 means "to deliver a final blow", so I hope that explains the wording I chose here!

"It can’t be stopped, not now; and not so simply, either." ← By "not so simply," Micchan is implying that there'd be consequences for stopping. So cool...

The song's title is 粗探し (searching for faults) written in katakana. Because of this and a lack of official English title, I used romanization for the title! If we want to go for meaning, then I'd call this song Faultfinding in English.

Speaking of meaning, I considered using "nitpicking" instead of "faultfinding". Same meaning, I just ended up liking the alliteration for faultfinding and thought it fit well with the OUT DOUBT parts. Personal preference.

that said, i noticed a ton of you saying stuff like “i cant wait for sat/sun” and i realized webtoon dropped the ball on something i requested ages ago >:( which is that we switch to a once a week upload for this final season, for my sanity ToT
