was originally a campaign idea but campaign didnt go anywhere so thinking about making it a book instead

so i think i'll just make it a book

but because the players were supposed to be alice

i dont have an alice stand in character

but pls explain dnd first i just thought it looked cool and i wanted to play just once so wghshgwhg--

okok so!!

dnd is a tabletop rpg, you play as a character of your choosing, you design them, roll the dice to determine your stats, the dm sets you and your character on an adventure and all your moves success rates are based on die rolls

for actions its normally a d20 (20 sided die) and depending on your class your attacks tend to be a range of the other die.

theres a site called dndbeyond you can use (or the app) to make your character and learn a bit more about dnd but basically its live roleplay with friends and the "dm" or dungeon master is the one who puts the whole campaign together and runs the story, most things are up to the dm so you need to run things by them to see if they can fit in the campaign like "homebrew content" which is stuff made by others or yourself that isnt standard dnd already (like making your own race like i have or making your own spells/enemies etc)

the story was set in an old world, things seemed to be going peacefully for some time until a war broke out between two kingdoms. i had set it up so my players would discover why the kingdoms had conflict, starting them out as a group hired by the king of the poorer of the kingdoms to kill the king of the other kingdom and finally end the war but along the way they would encounter some people who were very important to the story.

if the campaign had gone anywhere before we all disbanded i would have had their backstories come in and given them each a chance for some character growth or an "arc" if you will and given them plenty of ways to gain xp and level up like monsters and other enemies to fight.

i might reuse the story for another campaign i was really sad it never got to go anywhere.

as the dm you kinda have to know everything but youre also the one who makes the rules so if you forget something you can make it up as you go, you can decide whether or not someone needs to role for something and what the reaction is to the roll they made.

you can have a set up for battles and dnd beyond or dnd wikis have all the stats you'd need for things like enemies, spells, environment and so on!

plus it doesnt have to be set in stone you could simply say "he swiped his sword at you" and have the player roll a dodge, if they role successfully, poorly or in the middle you can have the enemie miss, scratch the player's character, full hit etc and just deal whatever amount of damage you want, the players wont really care or notice if you arent consistent because they'll be wrapped up in the game!

however the dm is allowed to use any characters of any level as they see fit because those characters become their npc's and its the dm's story so everythings in the hand of the dm when it comes to that stuff

the player gets to chose if they wanna remake the character for a new campaign etc but its up to the dm to allow things in their story.

race: catfolk?

gender: nyanbinary and intersex using they/he/the cat/the stray or no pronouns

class: idk, rogue? monk?

bg: one parent was a tabaxi, other parent/other half up for discussion with dm for plot reasons. grew up with a few foster families before living on their own and joining an adventuring party which eventually got fed up with them and kicked em to the curb. they'd been pickpocketing and taking small jobs, playing pranks and so on until they found themselves in a mess that lead them to meet the current party.

personality: easy going and sly, clever, quick-witted, curious to an almost nosy fault, stubborn, dramatic, easily excitable, easily bored, ambeverted, a good conversationalist but not a people person, distrusting and deceitful but loyal when it comes down to it.

alignment: chaotic neutral

trivia: a prankster, a pick-pocketer, hates water, dogs, rats and mice, loves lavender and silver vine.

quotes: "awe, cat got your tongue?" "yoink, mine now, bye!" "haha...my whole life is a joke"

weapon: (depending on class) -staff -whip -claws -knife??? -sling

appearance: short, messy brown hair with matching tail and ears, tan skin with pale markings resembling cat-like stripes, small fangs, claws/sharp nails, small cut on one ear and a piecing on the other. wears a bandana, light leather armor over simple green clothing and a cloak just long enough to hide the tail but not long enough to step on. scar over one eye thats a lighter green than the other, possibly visually impaired to an extent on that side but seems to do just fine regardless.

its also plainly respectful to do so.

please at least tag season 2 content with spoiler warnings and stop tagging one campaign with anothers tag for reach (for example tagging vox content with crit 2&3's gangs tags.)

its annoying going into tags for one campaign and seeing stuff that only has to do with another, and its confusing seeing a post tagged as mighty nein when its about vox and vice versa
