So, GWitch (SPOILERS AHEAD) has just ended. And not even a day after it ended, the usual RWBY suspects are now attacking GWitch. They are calling the show âYuribaitingâ or saying that it is âfetishisingâ lesbian relationships. Of course, they are mad that people are praising GWitch for its representation, while BB from RWBY is not seen in a positive light.
Because RWBY fans, and especially the Wasps of Bumblebee ship, just cannot handle that other shows have better LGBT+ romances than RWBY, especially anime
Its funny that GWitch is accused of fanservice, while when BB in RWBY was announced, the two voice actresses behind the characters of the ship, went and did an underwear photoshoot just to advertise BB. I have no problems with OnlyFans, we live in a capitalist society, we all sell our bodies for work, to sell the images of a body is no worse or better than any other work. HOWEVER, you dont get to accuse other media of fetishization of LGBT+ relationships when the relationship you worship had the voice actresses to an underwear photoshoot specifically to advertise that relationship. THAT is actual fetishization, full stop.
Its funny that GWitch is accused of âYuribaitingâ when BB took a DECADE to even have a confession. And not even a week ago, the official RT account used the picture of the moment that BB got confirmed⌠To advertise a completely different thing. On the other hand, Miorine and Suletta are now canonically MARRIED to each other. And it did not take them a DECADE to do so. Also, we are shown explicitly what they think about each other, Miorine looking at Suletta playing with children fondly for example. BB supporters have literally used the scene of Blake looking at Yang in VOLUME ONE initiation as âproofâ of a relationship. So dont you even talk about baiting when GWitch has been more explicit with these two than BB for a decade.
Also, lets talk about another point of hypocricy. Before V9, many BB fans were high on a mix of copium and hopium, they all were saying âRomances dont need kisses to be established!â, because they were preparing for a possibility of a BB kiss not happening. So they were pre-emtivelly stating that a kiss does not need to happen to confirm the romance. AND YET, here we are, with these same fans complaining about GWitch. Werent you the ones who said that kisses arent needed? And yet even now you whine and whine.
And we all know why. Because GWitch proves to everyone that LGBT+ romances can be done better than BB. Because it gained MAINSTREAM acclaim. Because its an actual romance and not a joke like BB. You feel threathened, you KNOW that better LGBT+ representation is becoming more and more often seen. And you know that less and less people care or see BB as good, besides your lil cult.
And i am here, enjoying every second of it. Hell, might even buy some merch if i can from this show, just to spite you all.
