okay first of all i am gay and it is an injustice that i can’t hold someone’s hand right now

oh just imagine…. sitting together and watching the sun set over the ocean until the sky fades to dark navy blue….. it’s getting a little cold out but the virus has passed and social distancing is over so you scoot a little closer…. the stars are out now and you can start to trace the constellations, the same way he traces lines between the freckles across your nose….. he’s pointing one out now, and you move your head closer to see it from his line of sight….. you can’t help but be nervous letting yourself be close to someone again after so long, but…. you feel his breath on your cheek and it’s warm and for the first time in a while, you’re not afraid…. just imagine

okay hold on. i just listened to episode 25 of tma and the hither green dissenters use the symbol of a closed eye which is similar to the peoples church of the divine host from the serial killer episode? and that church was founded by maxwell rayner who was the guy from the wwi episode??? from like 100 years ago? do i know anything else about maxwell rayner so far bc i feel like i should but i can’t remember

wait no the guy in the wwi episode was joseph rayner. and i guess jonathan said that name sounded familiar but he didn’t know from where? so i’m good we’re in the same boat

building on this, in the episode with the hither green chapel they were changing “ny-ålesund” which is the name of the northern most settlement in the world, located in norway. and then that place became relevant again in the alone in space episode bc one of the ppl funding it is based in that town

there was another episode involving the serial killer after he was put into prison. there were issues in the prison with the plumbing which is just like the way the sink spat out black water in the original episode. he also was visited in prison by maxwell rayner which he was super disturbed about. he died when there was a black out and he got stabbed in his cell

the other weird thing about this is that the blackout was more than just a blackout, it was like the dark was impenetrable. similar to the way all the streetlights went out in the original serial killer episode

another episode with maxwell rayner: the chips were going to arrest him for kidnapping a kid, but when they got there everything was so dark their flashlights didn’t cut it and one of the police ended up dying. it definitely seemed like there was cult stuff going on there too (people’s church of the divine host?) rayner was like spitting darkness out of his mouth like fog too. ALSO one of the cult members who ended up dying was natalie ennis, who was the creepy religious roommate in the episode at hither green chapel.

there was just another statement from the 1800s that talks about maxwell rayner. so he’s immortal maybe? also it said he was blind and was interested in collecting old documents or something. so this guy outbid him at an auction for some documents, and he was pissed and made a threat to the guy about the sandman. the sandman showed up in the night and was spitting black sand everywhere that swallowed all the light and he couldn’t see. so he took the sand and put it in his eyes which made him blind but it also allowed him to escape.

on the day of episode 25 there was a solar eclipse in ny-ålesund

whoa…… so in the boat episode the boat is owned by some guy Lukas, whose family is the same one that had the creepy funeral… but they also give funding to the magnus institute so they can’t investigate further for fear of losing funding….. interesting……..

two new appearances of peter lukas: in the episode with a bunch of random statements, he showed up in the archives at the end and possibly took the guy that was there ? he was pissed that he couldn’t talk to elias or john or someone. and then he also was mentioned in the michael origin story episode bc he was the boat captain that took them to the island where the spiral was having their ritual

lukas is back again he just showed up in the archives and asked martin how elias is as a boss, and martin is like tbh he fuckin sucks and lukas says he’ll talk to elias about it? weird

there was a second episode about the vampire hunter (even though they thought he died after the first statement). he talked about this woman who came into the homeless shelters who he eventually followed one night and found out she was hollow except for spiders and cobwebs, which sounds a lot like what the cop was talking about in section 31. interesting

in the topic of vampires, it has also been confirmed that the police are aware of vampires and deal with them by taking them out into the woods and burning them to ashes

just got to a statement of a guy who dated agnes for a bit. she would always come to the same coffee shop and order a drink but not drink it, and she has been going there for over ten years but never aging. she died at the same instant that the tree at hill top road got pulled down. also, she has some kind of power having to do with heat bc her coffee would always stay hot, and when she kissed the guy at the end it burned him really badly

bruh the vampire killer (trevor the tramp) is back and he’s traveling around with julia who is the daughter of that serial killer who was part of that cult

god the way that one contrasted episode 57 so perfectly…. both of them being in the same scenario, but the first being about fear that we are alone, and the second being about fear that there is something out there that is so impossibly beyond our comprehension….. mmm *chefs kiss *

alright ALSO i just got to episode 32 right now and it’s titled the hive and i’m like 👁👁 i feel like this is gonna be a big one in terms of jane prentiss related plot and i’m psyched let’s goooo

oh SHIT the statement is by the girl herself 🫢

so when jane prentiss was getting cremated she gave off this really weird smell that the cremator recognized. he smelled it once before when exterminating ants, and there was this guy there in a huge brown suit who was like oily?? and there was oily residue everywhere (very similar to that funeral home one). then he smelled it when getting rid of the wasps nest in jane prentiss‘s house. also when he did that the landlord was acting really sus and he was the one who burned the house down. lastly he smelled it when cremating jane prentiss. the guy in the big brown suit also kinda reminds me of the guy in grifter’s bone? but i’m not sure if i’m supposed to draw that as a parallel or not

wait it was confirmed that that guy was the same guy as in the funeral home episode, john amherst

hmmmm john amherst makes yet another appearance (possibly) in the tale of a field hospital. he kept dying of various illnesses but would always come back? the restless man story was pretty disturbing

there’s so much interesting stuff going on with gertrude too… like i just got to the episode with the cult shit in the forest and that was her photograph in there, and in the episode about the creepy dreams she was at the center of all the weird tentacles and the guy was saying she was gonna die…… i remember there was something that happened as well in the day of her death but i can’t remember what or which episode summary to look in

NEW STUFF okay so to recap, gertrude’s body was found in the tunnels underneath the institute, and from that they found she had been shot aka murdered. she had a whole bunch of tapes too which jon is starting to listen through. from the tapes we found she is actually doing some under the table stuff, like recording statements off the books. she’s researching about the origins of the institute maybe? but she needs to keep this secret from everyone for some reason. john just broke into her apartment and found a laptop charger, implying she had a personal computer, which john is n now looking for. also she had cut all the eyes out of all the book covers. spooky.

I JUST FOUND IT gertrude died on may 15th which is the same day there was a police report about the hither green chapel where someone heard screams but the police didn’t find anything. interesting…

john is very agitated about everyone else at the institute and he finally confessed that he thinks one of them murdered gertrude. they gave him the cctv footage from the week of her disappearance and he concludes none of them could have done it so it must have been the entity in the tunnels underneath the institute

john just found gertrude’s laptop underneath the floorboards!!

contents of gertrude’s laptop: evidence that she was traveling a lot, receipts for petrol and lighter fluid and all sorts of stuff, and records that she was trying to buy leitner books. she successfully bought the key of solomon which was mentioned in page turner

she was traveling around with gerard keay. it sounds like they were investigating some stuff in france (beetle episode) and then went to australia or new zealand? girl why

she got arrested in chicago (?) after gerard died bc she apparently snuck into the morgue and was doing something to his body??? and she had a weird book????? funky leitner business i think
