The butch sitting next to a fem in the fifth picture/fourth photograph is Violette Morris, a Nazi collaborator who was the driver of Christian Sarton du Jonchay (a very high-ranking Vichy official) and was head of a Luftwaffe garage in Paris. According to historian Raymond Ruffin, who collected the testimonies of several Resistance fighters who were acquainted with her, she may also have been a Gestapo spy and possibly acted as a torturer and interrogator for the German forces. This last point of her biography is disputed as the relevant archival records were destroyed (although it does seem she was positively identified by several survivors as their torturer), but there’s no denying that at a minimum she was an active and enthusiastic collaborator. She was killed in 1944 and it is presumed she was shot by the French Resistance because of her ties to the Vichy regime. There is no reason whatsoever for her image to be circulated.

This is exactly how the women in the Shrek series are. I love it.

a horror film not being scary isnt a bad thing. horror is supposed to HORRIFY, and conflating it with this obsession with scares has really messed with the genre imo. its why so many films are ineffective with audiences, because they leave no lasting impression due to the fact that filmmakers are focusing so muchon trying to scare you and not actually exploring things that deeply unsettle us.
