        ‘      what was that?    ’ one of the nurse from her left spoke up         starting to walk towards one of the windows in the hallway. others         beginning to wander out of their rooms, family members.         ‘     oh please. not the jadoon again.     ’ that’s all she needed, besides         what highly trained criminal would hide in a maternity ward.         ‘    oh you’d be surprised as to how many don’t look              new babies are born.     ’ the sudden voice in her ear, had Ana letting              a small scream escape her lips. her dark brown eyes moved to glare              at the person who had spoken, to her obviously wondered out loud              question. and then she blanched. ‘    oh look he has green eyes again.    ’     her whole body tensed and she tried to move, but The Doctor    grabbed onto her arm and held her into place. their eyes met    again, neither one noticing the tiny blonde than was running    towards them. ‘     Doctor!     ’ she called out and Ana had to     stop herself from wincing at the tone of voice. the blonde     slowed to a stop as she came to stand in front of Ana and    The Doctor, who were in fact...having a staring conversation.          it felt like five minutes before anyone spoke.           ‘      who is she?     ’ Ana bit out almost, eyes          flickering to the blonde, who seemed to turn          her nose up at the brunette at the mention of          her person. before The Doctor could even open          his mouth, the companion spoke up.              ‘      she is the cats mother.                     i’m Astrid, a shop owner.   ’ the blonde, Astrid, snapped out and               Ana couldn’t help the smirk that crossed her lips as her eyes moved               back to The Doctor, who in the mean time let go of her arm. A elegant               eyebrow rose.               ‘      you never did get over me, did you?     ’

   ‘    Ana? love are you alright?  ’ the nurse who was sat next to her    working on her own computer turned to look at the brunette once     the noise of a snapped pen filled the air. Ana’s gaze hadn’t strayed from    sight of him and the ---- .... ugh blonde? that hung off of his hand. that    goddamn bright red jacket was still on his back. she gave him that    jacket. well --- technically she stole the jacket and gave it to him but    that was besides the point. she looked down and noticed the dark    blue ink spread across her hand. cursing, she stood up from her    chair, ignoring Suzanne, the nurse, and hurried off to the staff bath-    room. trying not to wipe the ink on her scrubs.        ‘     goddamnit.    ’ she cursed to herself again as she turned the tap on        when she almost jumped onto the counter. her left hand furiously pumped        at the soap dispenser, before moving both hands underneath the cold water.        then along came the furious scrubbing. it took her only about two minutes to        get the dark blue stains off of her hand. then she cupped them, letting the water        pool into her hands, she leaned forward and splashed the water over her        face.                  her head lifted up and she stared at her brown eyes, there were bags                  under them, but that could have been because it was almost two in the                  morning. there was the distant screams and cries of women in labour.                  a shiver rushed down her spine, as the screams almost faded as the                  familiar buzzing of the sonic screwdriver reached her ears.       ‘    no, no, no.   ’ she muttered to herself as she let her head hang low again.      ‘   you’ll have to face him sometime.  ’ the voice inside her head, that sounded      a lot like her brother, spoke. she didn’t want to, she may have gotten her ‘humanity’      back, but that didn’t resolve the other five years she ran away from him. she couldn’t      face him. not now. then another noise filled her ears, the perks of being half time lord.      a girls voice. it was pitched. loud. annoying.            ‘      what are we doing here, doctor?   ’             ‘      uh...looking for someone. important.   ’  no. no. NO. she was not important. obviously he had moved on. other wise she wouldn’t be there, hanging onto his arm, like her life depended on it.           ‘    and who is that?   ‘            ‘    someone i lost.     ’     Ana’s eyes closed tightly. well...might as well     just --- go out and face the music. her head lifted again.     one last look in the mirror, before she turned on her the     heels of her feet, moving towards the door, placing the     heel of her hand against the door and pushed outwards.     expecting to run into the time lord and his companion.      but no one was there.            ‘    Ana!   ’ her heart jumped into her throat. head swirling to            to the left, having her heart deflate slightly, to see Lillian rushing           towards her. ‘   tara’s ready to push!   ’ her fellow nurse called and           Ana’s mind pushed the doctor to the back, waiting..., before she           flew into nurse mode. running to catch up to Lillian, passing the bull           pen, leaning over the counter to grab her clipboard, and her gloves.                ‘     finally. the poor girls been here                      for two days.     ’ Lillian laughed as the two of them                 reached room number five. where the screams intensified.     where are you, doctor?
