The Hulk noticed that something was off about Thor when he came for their weekly sparring. He wasn’t hitting quite as hard and he seemed to be somewhere else, to the point Hulk managed to land a few hits that would have easily been blocked.

“Thor gone.” Hulk grunted as Thor picked himself off the ground, dusting off his knees.

“Gone? What do you mean gone, I’m right here.”

Hulk grunted again, frustrated. Thor watched him thoughtfully as as Hulk reached up and put his hand to his head before making a soft ‘boom’ sound and making wiggling his fingers to imitate an explosion.

“My, my head is gone?” Thor asked, confused.

“No! Thor gone!”

Thor looked at the ground puzzled. “Gone, gone.” He muttered to himself. “My head is, is gone, somewhere else? Oh, do you mean my head is elsewhere? That I’m not paying attention?”

The Hulk made an affirming sound and turned to pick his hammer up from the ground. “Training done. Thor gone.”

“Wait!” Thor said.

Hulk turned to him, intending to tell him no again, but he saw Thor looking. Strange. He had the same face as when Hulk showed him where the quinjet was on Sakaar.

“What? Why weird face?”

Thor clapped his hands together awkwardly. “My face isn’t weird.”

Hulk made an impatient noise in the back of his throat and made to walk away again, only to be halted once again by a fumbling God of Thunder.

“Wait, there is something, I need your input on.” When the Hulk didn’t leave Thor took it as an incentive to continue. “It’s about Banner.”

The Hulk made a bit of a face, his bottom lip jutting out in a slight pout. Banner was still a bit of a sore subject, they’d been working on their shared dynamic and come to a bit of an understanding but it was rocky at best.

“What Banner?”

“W-well you see, I, I’ve found myself in a bit of a predicament. In which I am, finding myself to be, quite fond of Banner. I am unsure of how to speak to him of my affections, and I thought, who knows Banner better than anyone. I was hoping, you would be open to helping me?”

The Hulk gave Thor a calculating look, and in the back of his mind the was a slight twinge of awareness.

“Banner likes puny God. Tell him.”

Thor nearly dropped stormbreaker, his cheeks flooding with color. “Truly? He does?”

Hulk nodded, a bit slower than usual, like he was considering something. “Both do.”

Thor grinned, delighted. “This is wonderful news! I will- Wait.” Thor paused, turning to look back and the Hulk incredulously. “Did you just say both? As in the two of you?”

The Hulk crossed his arms defensively, looking a bit like a put out child. “Yes.”

Of course he was surprised when Thor’s smile grew even wider. “Oh Hulk! That is even more wonderful news! I wasn’t sure if you were, not to say capable but, interested really, oh this just keeps getting better!” Thor said enthusiastically, grabbing Hulk’s hand and kissing it gently.

“We’ll have to discuss this more thoroughly of course, and get Banner’s opinion but I am delighted!” Thor babbled. “I’ll have to make preparations and courting gifts, and-”

The Hulk cut Thor off by grabbing his face, covering his mouth but in a way that was gentler than he had in previous instances. “Idiot God. Talk to Banner.” He murmured.

Thor paused, a flicker of understanding in his eyes before he pried the Hulk’s hand away. “Yes of course! I will see you again at a later date. Until then!”

The Hulk grunted slightly and Thor watched, still slightly in awe after all this time, as Bruce returned, gently swaying on unsteady feet. He blinked at Thor as soon as he had his bearings and offered him a tired smile before, he was swept off his feet with a surprised squeak as Thor spun him around excitedly.

loki is a lil shit who is difficult to work with and one day just decides he can’t deal with thor being in his head anymore n quits

but there’s a threat of a double event so thor is desperate to find someone compatible and bruce is compatible but bruce is like hey idk if i want to do this
