I am a pretty tough person to rattle. I don’t have any triggers, I don’t have a DNI list, and for the most part the only time I’m going to want to be apprised of a situation is when there’s some serious, actual moral-boundary-crossing going on. It’s not that I don’t care - it’s that I don’t want to get sucked into a turf war.
I pretty firmly self-identify as a high-activity writer. I write a lot, and I write quickly. I’m fine with people being less hard-on-the-clamp than me, but if we’re following each other I’m presuming that there’s at the very least an active desire for our characters to interact and will act under that assumption. If you’re prone to overlapping hiatuses or long periods of low muse, I’ll manage my expectations.
ADDENDUM: If the only posts on your blog are complaining about how you WANT to write but CAN’T, and you’re REALLY excited to start writing again but never actually DO, I’m going to unfollow you. I’m happy to write even if I'm not following you, but I don’t follow RP blogs to get “life update: it got worse” posts.
SECOND ADDENDUM: If we follow each other, great! I’ll send over a message advising that I’m ready to plot or discuss our options. When I do this, I’m assuming you’d like to get down to business soon after following, and a lot of the time people are a little iffy about making first contact. I have no problem doing it. If I don’t get a response, I’ll drop another IM about a week later as a reminder - these things fall through the cracks, there’s no shame in having something slip your mind or having Tumblr’s monolithically bad messaging system decide not to notify you. If THAT doesn’t get a response, I’ll unfollow after about a week. It’s nothing personal, but I follow people I’d to write with, and I assume if you follow me back the feeling is mutual. That said, I WON’T block in this case. I only softblock blogs that have been inactive for more than a month.
The Student is a tightly-bound ball of questionable coping mechanisms and misdirected feelings and will be portrayed as such. Rakatak is the direct beneficiary of an evil empire that worships an evil god and will, similarly, be portrayed as such. Aside from the obvious violence you can expect here, there may also be allusions of (slightly) disordered eating, self-negligence, propaganda, corporal punishment and similar topics - though not direct self-harm. Will tag if necessary.
If I behave in a way you find difficult or impossible to interface with, there’s no shame in saying you don’t think things will work out. Saying so is appreciated.

Her lips purse as she deliberates on how much truth and what version of truth she wants to give away right now. Putting together a team isn't right- the team is put together, she didn't choose them carefully; they were tossed together in the weirdest event salad and decided to keep working together for the hell of it. Saying that she's curious probably won't help the urge little miss Sickle over there has to punch a hole through her. So, option three it is:
" I have a habit of finding people who come from places like the one I am from. I know, sometimes, you can feel lonely. " Her expression twists, uncomfortable with the level of sincerity on display. " And it is fun to come see people kick asses. I know that if I ever wanted sparring partners, I will be slightly evenly matched. "
There. That should offset the tension a little bit.
" If you like your coop, I do not care to remove you from it. I would still like to know what is keeping you in it, though. Even if it is yourself. "
" If he's in the mood for it, " Yelena repeats with a nasal snort of laughter.
" He's more likely to be in a mood that would dent it more, honestly. " She gives the sad metal a flick before getting up, stretching with a groan.
Walker looks downright dejected — which would be funny if it wasn't so drowned -puppy looking. " I'm getting a beer. You have ten seconds to decide whether you want me to bring you one or not. "

This would be the perfect place to spit out some action-movie-typical line delivery — 'nope, but allow me the pleasure of showing you the ropes ! ' — but Yelena is not Natalia. She takes much more pleasure in lurking creepiness subtlety.
The non-reaction to Yelena's presence, the casual approach to a stranger in her territory, the calculating look in Xue's eyes as she sizes her up — Yelena takes pride in doing her research; she expected to like Xue, but the nagging voice that pushes Yelena to guide is one she doesn't expect.
" Jiangwei. You forgot the last part of your out of the ring name. " Yelena tilts her head in return, eyes narrowing for the exact opposite reasons. I have you damn well figured out.
Paying you a visit is just courtesy .
( Which, of course, isn't all the truth. But who cares. )
Yelena pushes off the wall now, breezing through the space as if it were her own, throwing a warily amused laugh at the extended hand. " The sparkles would also look good on a poster, if spectacle was what you aim for. " She drops into a chair, her body half spilling out of it already. " I don't think it is. I could be wrong, maybe. I've only seen a few of your fights in person, after all — "
With her head propped up on arms that are folded over the back of a her newly acquired, very scratchy chair, Yelena surveys the woman in front of her.
" And the others, well those I have had to find online. Maybe your manager should focus less on making you scary and instead focus on making you accessible. Because to me? To me you do not seem all that scary, Xue Jiangwei. What you seem, to me, is mysterious. " It's simple mathematics, really. Hidden away champion fighter plus weird superpower equals mystery. " Very hard to find out about your past, very rare to see your fizzy fists flying all about. I don't really care about the why. "
Even an amateur could piece together that a quiet girl with magic hands doing rounds in a fight club isn't only what she appears to be. But Yelena doesn't care about the tragic backstory ( yet ) —
" What I want to know is what ? What is the thing that keeps you cooped up here Xue Jiangwei ? "
the strength yelena puts into pulling down a side of walker's aptly unfortunately damaged shield takes the wind out of her. " — dented to me. "
she can't help but glare at the depressingly deformed thing and the man so attached to it as she catches her breath. " call it what it is, walker; lost cause . "
❝ i gave you that security code for emergencies only , ❞ he says , dropping his bag down on the kitchen island next to yelena . he's not mad to see her , that is not the issue that he has , but it does go against why he gave her the passcode to his security alarm . it doesn't help that he too is tired && cranky && hungry . he knew that he didn't have much to eat , but with a shower && maybe a chance to sit down , he could order some takeout .
a glance at the kitchen cupboards , bucky then let his gaze drift back to yelena . james . not barnes ? not bucky ? in any other person this would be seen as serious . however , with yelena that could mean either one of two possibilities ; she was either framing a serious situation with humor ... or she was looking to be annoying . he pauses as he's pulling off his jacket .
its the FORMER . not the latter , he decides , as she mentions cup noodles .
❝ do you know how bad they are for you ? ❞ he asks , raising a dark brow . he says this knowing full well he was gonna order a pizza . ❝ i DON'T entertain company , ❞ he adds . ❝ unless they drop in unannounced . ❞ the comment is pointed but he rolls his eyes && takes it on the chin , deciding that he's not going to kick her out . yet .
" this is an emergency, james, " her search for anything consumable proving fruitless, yelena relents. she pulls down the most nondescript mug she can find, instead setting her sights on whatever form of coffee she can get her hands on. " does my starvation mean nothing to you ? "
she meets his raised eyebrow with a pair of her own — eyes light up with amusement over the rim of bucky's her mug — all of his admonishments might as well not have been said. in one ear, out the next.
she wipes some stray coffee droplets off on the back of her sleeve ( being a slob in bucky's house is worth the annoyance of a stain ) before she bothers with any sort of response.
" i read somewhere that hanging out is really good for team - building. so , " yelena hoists herself back onto the counter, socked feet swinging lightly. " i'm here to build. "
