Thumb drives made up to look like memory cards for the PlayStation 2 by Limited Run Games for their special edition release of a pair of the original Jak and Daxter games. They are of translucent plastic and have the franchise paw print logo on the back
Got them off eBay, naturally. Not sure how much memory they hold.....
Well, there was a GOLD version made, purportedly, for the original game’s developers. It’s nice and shiny.
100 posts! How about that? I’ve got a lot of these, eh?
Was there a gold heist in GTAV? I don’t remember.
I don’t have much to say other than this gold bar USB is not has heavy as that other one I have.
Remember when Plants vs. Zombies was everywhere? Like before Angry Birds or whatever. I don’t think I ever played it but I have played homages to it in other games.
Anyway I just want to note how thick this one is. It’s about a half inch thick. It’s a Unit. A Chonk. A Thick Boy. All that.

A sarcophagus from the Limited Run Games release of Maniac Mansion.
Anyone remember the Maniac Mansion TV series? I can’t remember a single thing about an actual episode, but I know I watched every one.
Anyway, I refuse to believe that anyone had the patience to actually finish one of these style games without help. They make absolutely no sense.
Ever heard of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger?
Well I have. I mean, I know a lot about this era of gaming history, when every studio was trying to generate the next Sonic or Crash Bandicoot to get a piece of that mascot market share. But I imagine he doesn’t linger in the collective unconscious.
They made four of these games and this boomerang shaped drive apparently was in stores to support the sequel’s release.
This thing is pretty cool looking and larger than your average drive. The odd shape impacts its practicality though. 4GB, I got this from Europe, which I’m starting to mine for new items for my collection as it expands.
Ever want to tear Mario’s head off? Now’s your chance!
Apparently from 2009, this, about an inch and a half tall, Mario drive comes to me from the UK as well. For all the drives I have the Nintendo ones are the most rare and this is definitely the first Mario I’ve seen.
It’s blank (1GB), but I have the decrepit original box at least!
I must have more HALO themed drives than ones for any other franchise. Timing and thematic consistency I suppose.
Anyway I got this from the UK and frankly it’s kinda goofy looking. It’s blank too, and that’s a minus.

Here’s a Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 drive shaped like a tiny nuclear bomb on key ring commemorating the 2025 iterations of the popular Nuketown multiplayer map
This apparently was commercial release and not packed with the game.
Frankly I’m glad they put the year on this, I’ve lost track of the CoD timeline over the years. Plus it’s nice to see flash drives still being made and marketed in 2025!
A promotional swing type drive with the PlayStation logo printed onto it.
Don’t know what else to say but it’s in great condition, marked on the back as being 1GB and that I’m a little suspicious of plugging it in anywhere.
Coincidentally another “tape drive” this one for the sleeper hit of the Far Cry franchise, Far Cry Blood Dragon. A pitch perfect satire of over the top 80s sci-fi action movies, it’s the kind of game Ubisoft should be making more of.
This 4GB drive comes with a cassette case that, since the drive comes with the game soundtrack, really sells the throwback illusion. This is a very nice piece from Limited Run who show they care able the details even beyond the game itself.
Sharing my collection online sometimes helps expand it! Picked up this cassette shaped drive with case for the game Beat Slayer, advertised as a roguelite brawler that’s part Hades part Hi Fi Rush. Sounds fun!
Sharp little item, no place to plug it in right now but looks like it contains the game’s soundtrack, which is apt for the design and a better than average premium since this is a music based game.
Thank you to everyone who got me to 500 likes!

They already made over two thousand of these games already?
Thank you! I’ll be here all week!
Anyway, another Battlefield dog tag for the collection. It’s in it original packaging so I’m going to leave it for now.
Another drive from the Splinter Cell franchise! See the other one for how this series never clicked for me. This was the entry when Sam Fisher, unfitting voice guy, gets sent to prison but they let him keep some of his spy tech. Good thing that stuff is designed to be tiny IF you know what I mean!
Check out all that green. Remember when everything was green in the days before brown? Good times.
Anyway, this card style drive wouldn’t work in my special air gapped test computer so whatever was on it, if anything, is lost to the digital aether, alas.
