I was fortunate enough to get to contribute a Whisper cheshire cat plush reward this time around. Delighted to see that it looks like these little guys have all already found homes!! Yay! It was a pleasure to work with Isa and Meg; they were both communicative and just generally lovely for the entire process. Thank you guys for letting me make something for a comic I’m such a fan of! 

Seriously though, these two ladies spin an awesome story. Namesake asks what if fairy tale worlds were real, and sometimes those sharing a name with the story’s protagonist end up summoned to that world to live their version of the story. There’s a whole magical secret society (or two) built up around the phenomenon. 

My sister and her husband had their first baby boy recently, and she wanted a ‘bucky bear’ teddy bear for her little guy!

One of my very favorite moments in Steven Universe. I love Garnet, and her interactions with Peridot in ‘Log Date: 7 15 2′ are just such a sweet, gentle message about tolerance.

Well, I’ve been absorbing fan art for Undertale for months now and apparently it was all building to this, so here you go internet!  After hours of fiddling and tweaking, this is the final result of me fervently wanting to mash together some of my favorite Undertale things. I hope you enjoy!

It’s been awhile since I’ve really worked on my 2-D art, and like a good number of others this game is turning out to be the perfect excuse to do so! Being as short as they are, I figure Alphys and Sans could do the stripe-shirt thing to go incogneto if they ever wanted to. : )

I went back and tried the line work in Fire Alpaca to see how the smoothing feature works, and upped the resolution so the lines were thinner. So far I’m liking the difference!

Had to wait until tonight to post this, but here’s the last thing I chipped in for the DotA Internationals this year-- the Pudge cosplay from the all star game!

The pieces were all provided for me; the mask, a basic body suit, plastic weapons, some scrubs pants, some shiny silver gauntlets and a pristine new apron. I added some scars and eight stuffed ‘rings’ to the body, four on shoulder and four on back. It was fun getting to apply my scar painting skills from Halloween face painting to something so large scale! I tattered up the bottom of the pants a bit, and faux rusted the gauntlets, while my husband sawed off the metal plates from the fingers to match Pudge more closely. And that apron-- that poor apron got put through a lot, from  curdling acrylic paint, (it added a lot of character to the gore) tea, and finally soy sauce!

First of a few projects for Valve for the DotA 2 Internationals 5 going on this week! It’s the Storm Spirit’s hat! This was definitely a new challenge for me, though I lucked out finding a fabric with shine and gradients in the right color range! This hat is formed of very stiff interfacing ironed on to the satin-y material, which helps keep it fairly light. There is one wire ring around the brim to hold shape. There’s the cap part of a thatch hat inside with a chin cinch to help keep this sizable hat on, and the edges are fleece.

You can see this hat in action there, likely around the Secret Shop area through Saturday on Valve’s exuberant and super-nice merch guru, Arsenio!

As for this little guy, It’s the ever-helpful Purple Hippo of Happiness malform from the latest comic arc! I’ve been working on this for awhile now, it’s my first time playing with such nice long pile faux fur-- it’s so much softer than the sort I can buy at the local fabric store! It was also my first time ordering custom printed minky from Spoonflower, to get the blue dots on this little guy’s back. Pretty happy with how it all came together!

The pattern is also a new one for me, it’s made so you can pick it up under the arms, or have it perched on things like the tree in the photo. I personally have the prototype helpfully peering over my monitor at me. : )

Well, the time has come! I’m trying my hand at a shirt design!

I’ve always liked playing Pyro, and I’ve had this idea in my head since the Steam Workshop opened and have done doodles intermittently since. When the Balloonicorn Pyro figure came out later, that only crystalized it, and now here we are! I don’t exactly consider myself a master 2D artist, but with much time, effort, and tutorials, I’m actually pretty happy with how this turned out. : )

There is no wire in her mane or tail, it keeps its shape on its own.
