"Oh? Birthdays are pretty special, I’d getcha’ a gift with the time I had too," Harley assured with a smile, admiring her hair. "Gee, I neva’ thought t’do this sort of style before, but it looks perfect!" she squealed. "I mean…I get pampered sometimes, if puddin’s feelin’ really nice…but it ain’t often, I guess…Doesn’t mean I’m not happy though!”

Amber grinned happily and sat down next to Harley, "I'd get you a present too. I'm gonna try to get Meira some new coloring pencils Friday. She's really good at drawing. Sometimes she'll draw me and Charlie on the swing and give me the picture to put in my room. What are you gonna dress up as on Friday?"

"Yeah, I guess…" Harley mumbled nearly falling asleep from the attention to her hair. She’d left the hideout over a fight, a punch to the face. Harley’d stumbled upon the house after she managed to calm herself down. "Sure thing," she chirped, tugging one of her hairbands from her wrist and passing it back. "You’re spoiling me when I should be spoiling you fer being so cute, cutie.”

Tying off Harley's hair with the tie she smiled proudly and handed her a small mirror. "You don't need to spoil me. Meira and Beth already do that. They even make sure to get me a birthday present. Which is very nice of them especially since they have to use the time on our one day out to get it for me. I always make sure to get them something too. Besides, I don't think you get spoiled much and you're so nice you deserve to be."

Harley nearly started to cry right there from the girl’s words. As chaste and childish as they seemed, they mad perfect sense. “You’re right…m’boyfriend always says I need t’smile…but even he frowns sometimes…or tries to, heh…” Harley blinked a few times, immediately tugging her hair loose and shaking her head before sitting down. “Sure thing, gimme th’star treatment, kay?”

Amber grinned and lightly finger brushed Harley's hair before separating pieces to braid. "He must be nice if he tells you to smile. I'm glad you have someone to remind you." Carefully she braided the blonde hair making sure to keep it tight but not too much. Holding the end she smiled and held her hand out. "Hair tie please. Then I can use a mirror to show you."

Harley tried to keep a smile, but the girl’s comment broke her heart. Do I look sad..? Do I…Have I not been trying hard enough to look happy to everyone? "N-Naw…I’m happy!" she assured, self-consciously running a hand through her pigtail. "I just…I guess maybe I looked a ‘lil sad for a minute, just ‘cos you are such a good friend t’Meira…"

"Even happy people like you have bad days. Beth tries to hide hers and I let her cause I think she does it to try and keep me happy but I wish more people knew that it's okay to be sad every once in a while. Sometimes we just have to cry out all the bad stuff so we can fit the good stuff into our hearts." Setting Charlie down by a wall she lightly touched Harley's pigtail. "Can I do your hair? Beth's been teaching me how to braid and I wanna see if I can do it without help."

Beth shrugged. "Technically, I am quiet. You're the one who spoke first. You're also not supposed to be out so late so why are you?"

"Hannah. Yours?" she knew all of the ghost’s nicknames but thought it was pretty rude to go around calling someone by something like that.

"It's Beth. But some of the muggleborns call me Glitch. I don't really care either way. Nice to meet you Hannah. What are you doing out so late?"

Sweet words couldn’t possibly make such a tale so sickly. Harley felt nauseous as she forced her smile to remain on her mouth, giving a slow nod. “Y-Yeah…I…I think it’s best not to pry, y’know? I think Meira just needs a cutie-pie like you to play with and take care of, it’ll make her happy…” What the hell happened to these kids, oy vey…Harley sighed, planting her hands behind her back so she could lean back as she sat. “Sometimes it’s best just t’let people be sad for awhile…they gotta figure out things alone.”

Amber nodded. "Okay. I really want Meira to be happy. She's like a mom to me and Beth, so she deserves to be happy." Rocking her teddy bear a moment she smiled. "Do you wanna hold Charlie? You have to be careful with him cause he's old and he's my favorite but you kinda look like you're not feeling good right now and he always makes me feel better."

i like to think that hogwarts has a really strong wi-fi signal, but like the stair cases, it keeps moving around. just muggleborns, chillin on their laptops all suddenly stand up together, dash madly to a different corner of the school, and sit down wordlessly like some kind of mind hive flock of pigeons while the purebloods are just so confused

Amber smiled. "He sounds nice. I hope he's better than Meira's boyfriend was. Beth says he's why Meira don't like boys much. She had something, something he didn't like, but she wouldn't get rid of it so he decided to take it away." She frowned a bit. "It must have been something really special to Meira cause sometimes she gets real sad about it and she holds her stomach like this." Amber cradled her arm around her lower stomach like how pregnant women did before the baby was born. "A lot of times she braids my hair and hums lullabies when she's sad like that. I think it helps."

"Instead of being mean to Myrtle, why don’t you just throw something at them back?" Hannah overheard the ghost’s grumbles and was instantly irritated by the idea of using another ‘person’ as a punishment. "See if it goes through them."

"Myrtle can handle herself and it's not like she wouldn't mind the company." Hardly anyone decided to go near the girls bathroom. "And usually there isn't anything nearby that I can throw, not that anyone sticks around long enough for me to hit them with it. What's your name?"
