I really got into oils this year. It’s a wonderful medium! I hope to do some large chicken oil paintings one day.

Last figure painting of the year!

After months of stressful home renovation and moving, I finally found a little time to paint with friends Friday morning before work. Maybe the pressure of having to do everything right all the time broke me because I was painting loosely and did very little planning. I didn't care about the correct shapes or lighting, and I accepted any mistakes as happy accidents. I really like the final painting and I feel grateful to have had all these months of stress, because it's made me grow in a new direction as an artist.  

Chicken drama...I will never understand it. 

A few of us at work get together Friday mornings to paint for an hour before work. This was from August of last year. I saw it on my hard drive tonight and decided that I still like it.
