The founder, Russell Wattenberg, who has since stepped down due to health issues, overheard teachers talking that they were unable to get books into the hands of impoverished students.The operation’s new director is longtime volunteer Bonnie Hoppa.
The beloved community space has only one rule- do not resell the books, and each one is stamped as such.
