Thoughts of the Night

i have spent too much time missing people who have become strangers

in a language where i couldnt say ‘i love you’, i found one million different ways to tell you i did

i thought we would grow old as friends.

i have the pleasure of knowing the loveliest and gentlest soul there is yet she doesn’t even know how good she is

i have more or less made peace with sadness

I’m scared that we both think the same in that neither of us want to speak to the other, but I’m more scared of checking only to find you don’t care anymore.

if i was lucky enough to come home to you every day, i could do anything.

You said bye but now I’m wondering if that meant goodbye or good night.

Ghost of my past. Lovely. Sometimes I wonder if you still think of me too.

You’ve been in my nightmares so much they’ve almost become dreams.

I’d be lucky to have you in my life for as long as you’ll have me.
