further notes about stern des südens, the oddly prescient 1984 anime about an unnamed munich football team:

season 1, known as the treble arc, takes place over the course of the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons. the ending theme is “tage voller sonne.”

season 2, the world cup arc, follows the german national team as they head to brazil. the new opening theme is “auf uns.” the ending theme is this.

everyone is in short shorts because it’s the 80′s

the fandom joked a lot about recurring rivals mario götze and mats hummels making the move to munich but nobody was happy when it actually happened during the season 3 finale
