–––LIKES/DISLIKES: “ i mean we were so obsessed with hot-coco growing up. i’d be surprised if they weren’t chocolate addicts or at least inclined towards sweet foods. pretty sure we’d have a hyper fucking kid too, they would hate just sitting in one spot for too long. haha, piano classes are definitely out of the question. ”

–––APPEARANCE: “ uhhh, they would be tall with super soft and luscious brown hair. arched eyebrows out the womb and size-y ears. did i mention it’d be a handsome fetus ?? ”

–––JOB AMBITION: “ i think our kid would be pretty artsy. they’d likely fall somewhere into the fashion world, ideally for the two of us. maybe they’d even create their own line ?? or Y’KNOW, since it’s us it’ll pull a 180′ and say ‘mom, dad... i hate the upper east side, i want to be a farmer’. they would also get really emo about it if we couldn't understand why haha. ”

–––APPEARANCE: “ well i think they’d probably have more masculine features than feminine. i think they’d have a strong jaw and long limbs. i also think they’d have blonde hair instead of brown. ”

–––JOB AMBITION: “ probably something involving stars ?? i dunno if we’re their parents we’d be lucky if they came out with any goals in life. ”

“ well, our circumstances are a  l i t t l e  different now, but i’ve always cared about her. even when things were really bad. claudia will always have a piece of my heart. and i mean that in the most lighthearted way possible so y’know… chill out. ”

“ i suppose in spirt we are. pretty sure our souls are attached or something. she always calls me at the right time, like if i’m feeling off, she knows… it’s kind of…  u n s e t t l i n g. she's like a psychic gg. but ah––– no, i am not romancing her at the moment. ” 

“ dude, how could i possibly pick one memory ?? –––have you met my friends ?? they wouldn’t let me have a shitty day, even if i asked for it. i mean.. there was that one time cas, magort, fede, hannah and i took a spontaneous trip to cabos. that was pretty wild. ” he sighed. “ i love traveling with my friends. ”

       ‘ yeah, yeah, ‘ she sighed with an eye roll. maybe it was for the better that they weren’t both wasted. then again maybe that meant she’d be making a fool of herself and there’d be no alcohol to cloud his memory of it. that was a problem for sober claudia to deal with, though. ‘ you used to be so much more fun, ‘ she joked, nudging him slightly. it was true.. claudia couldn’t remember a single time she was bored in his company. he’d always brought out the best in her, too. now here they were, somehow dancing around the fact that they certainly hadn’t ended on good terms– it was what finally drove her away from new york, after all. but they seemed to be differently people now, both had grown up quite a bit. maybe they could learn to be friends again. ‘ oh yeah ? ‘ she said with a raised brow. part of her wanted to blurt out that he already had. instead, she sipped at her drink, therefore occupying her mouth and stopping her from saying something stupid.. ‘ i’m gonna hold you to that ! ‘ she exclaimed with another drunken grin. ‘ and if you aren’t going to drink will you at least come dance with me ? just sitting here is boring. ‘ it’s obvious he didn’t want to talk anyway.

rick slowly nodded his head whilst gently forming a smirk as she waved off most of his excuses. a part of him feeling quite nostalgic of their previous high school ventures, he’d truly forgotten how charming claudia could be, and how easily she’d gotten her way because of it. sure there was a  h a r d  side to her, and most would find her conduct toxic, but the two won each other over for one reason or another. rick was no saint. in fact he was a chaotic dumbass coasting through each semester for most of his educational career. it illustrates why the two took so long to make it  o f f i c i a l  in the first place. they’ve always been ‘friends’ but claudia kept her distance when she first she met him and his pile of friends, at their most obnoxious point he might add. she really only attached herself to margot, but of course appearances are everything on the upper east side and the two were equally favored amongst their peers, it seemed life had always pushed them together. “ alright i’ve sure... i might’ve gotten a little rusty –––but to be fair my summer was pretty tumultuous. ” he quipped, perking a brow at her offer to dance he took a slight pause, eventually growing a jocular grin. “ you... are going to trip in those heels. –––c’mon, i’ve got a better idea. ” he declared, reaching for her hand and steadily pulling her away from the  a u d i e n c e  surrounding them. there was a balcony he was intent on visiting tonight.

       his avoidance of her question certainly didn’t go unnoticed but she’d just let it go. they weren’t on the level they once were and he wasn’t totally wasted like she was, maybe then he’d be ready to spill what he wouldn’t normally. the tension was beginning to become a bit more obvious but her intoxication allowed her to ignore it. the redhead pouted when he insisted he couldn’t drink. ‘ why don’t you two just get an uber ? ‘ she asked. ‘ it’s new year’s, the perfect time to get drunk and not feel bad about it ! ‘ which is exactly what she was doing now. she would definitely be feeling bad about it in the morning, though with all the conversations and actions she wouldn’t have done at a normal party where she couldn’t mask her identity. ‘ uh.. not exactly ? i mean i’ve been hanging out a with everyone a little but no, i showed up alone. ‘ did that sound pathetic ? she probably would’ve gone with gisele but she was no where to be found so alas, she was flying solo. ‘ why ? you plan on ditching me ? ‘ it was mostly a joke but there was just a hint of genuineness. 

“ weeell, when i say dd i basically mean bs ( babysitter ), he’s been having a pretty rough night, i figured i’d sit this one out and let him lay off some steam. ” a lazy shrug came about. “ he’s my date tonight, i gotta make sure he’s taken care of, y’know. ” that was probably as revealing as he was going to get with her that evening. a part of him wished they would’ve communicated in a sober circumstance, but the more he went over it, he realized this was likely the best way to start talking again. he was buzzed so his  n e r v e s  weren’t taking over and she was hammered so her first approach wasn’t a ‘fuck you !!’ but an ‘oh hi you !!’. perhaps he should make the best of this puzzling situation. “ trust me, i would love to get fucked up tonight, but i don’t wanna be taken advantage of. ” it was joke, with some unfortunate truth to it. a familiar spark in his eye glistened, the look on his face issued a natural warmth and interest. –––‘you plan on ditching me ??’ her words certainly struck a cord. “ i would never run away from you, claudia. i know you too well, you can’t scare me off that easily. ”

“so… just torture?” caspian retorted, a smile creeping onto his face. “well… i had an argument with georgie van buren and then… niko and i almost got in a fight.” caspian explained, almost rolling his eyes at the pure thought of everything that had happened so far; until his reverie was broken by rick saying he was anxious and he gripped the other male’s arm tightly to try to get him to focus on the moment. “dude, you’re golden. you got this, right? and if not, and we end up getting separated, just remember go to the bathroom and i’ll find you.” caspian smiled reassuringly at his friend. he’d always be there for rick no matter what and although he probably didn’t need to assert the fact - he wanted him to know it regardless. “she’s not gonna ghost of christmas past you on my watch.” 

“ basically. ” he chuckled. listening intently to what his brother had to say. “ oh wait, gigi ?? how’d that go down ?? –––did you accidentally misbrand her balenciaga ?? ” his remark was  s l i g h t l y  sarcastic, as from what he’s experienced it didn’t really take much to offend a female from the upper east side. especially the girls he went to school with. he doubted it was any different now. then again he knew cas like the back of his hand, he could’ve very well said something to embarrass the girl. –––personally, rick found his charms endearing, but again, he was fully aware that not everyone shared their same sense of humor. “ you serious ?? man what the fuck is his issue... i’ve heard multiple people say he’s been snapping at everyone tonight. ” he was about to follow up with a few complaints of his own, but he felt that was a bit selfish. cas was opening up, it’d be better not take the spotlight or add onto the flame. “ thanks dude. i think with everything that’s been going on, i’ve just- gotten a little psyched out. ” his arm swopped forward to pat on cas’ shoulder blade, returning the sentiment.

       the somewhat awkward encounter shouldn’t have been surprising given their history but that didn’t mean it didn’t… hurt, if she was being totally honest. but she would push forward anyway even though she knew she’d regret it in the morning. her head titled slightly, quite surprised that he would give any answer other than the typical good. the days of speaking honestly about how they were feeling seemed like behind them but maybe not. ‘ wha– even now ? i mean, i’m not bad, ‘ she lied. sure, she was having some fun being as drunk as she was at a party but there was still this sense of dread washing over her. a secret she’d held for a very long time was on the brink of being revealed. one of the people she’d be most embarrassed finding out was standing right in front of her, too. ‘ c’mon, we need to lighten you up. it’ll be just like old times ! are ya up for a shot ? ‘ she questioned, nudging his shoulder and shooting him a excited grin. 

“ –––i can see that. ” her bubbly nature earned her a smile from the brunette. with enough evaluation he realized she was  c l e a r l y  intoxicated. he purposely dodged her halfhearted question, even if some of the tension toned down, he still felt somewhat uneasy around her. it had just been... so long. he was unsure of how their dynamic would be after so many years. break ups were always awkward to deal with, but guilt was never the better. to this present day he hadn’t felt guilt nor anger towards her, he just felt on edge. it’s obvious to his friends he was still anxious about seeing her. it reminded him of the hannah situation all over again, just thinking about it opened up old wounds. for his sake he would’ve avoided her a little longer, at least until his family’s circumstance blew over. but of course as fate would have it, it wasn’t his choice.  “ ah hah, i can’t drink too much tonight claudia. i’m cas’ dd tonight. ” he replied to her in a meticulous well meaning manner. it wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the entire truth either. “ are you here with a friend ?? ” that could’ve been taken in any possible way, through his perspective, he genuinely wanted to make sure she was being taken care of tonight. especially in her current behavioral favor.

“ i…” a long pause follows. “ ––– am uncomfortable. ” he chuckles sheepishly.
