A lot of the things Daisy genuinely does aren't actually just for her own benefit, but also for the benefit of the people closest to her. Maybe she doesn't always do it right (eg: her outburst at Hazel for hiding the fact that she still keeps in touch with Alexander after FCM, this to me was out of pure jealousy towards Alexander because Daisy trusts Hazel the most and was afraid she might have lost Hazel at the time because of him (and maybe also some rooted misandry because she is a lesbian and has mentioned to Hazel that she never saw the appeal in men but shhh)), but nevertheless she still has the same motives. She will do anything and everything, and go to tremendous heights to protect them so that she doesn't lose the few people that she truly cares about.
