I recently discovered this album/artist. Lying somewhere in between Tortoise and Steve Reich, Anna Meredith - on Jet Black Raider - provides a colorful bridge between past and present. Thoughtful nuances, unique syncopation and modern sensibilities tell the story of an artist who is searching for mastery via experimentation, self awareness and intrigue.
