My classes finally start today, stupid that I came in the middle of the week but still, excited. 

[wrinkles her nose] Or you could come with me.

Then try to work on changing it. You seem like one that can do it. 

I do try! I just need a bigger way to do it.

Ah. That is an unfortunately part of this world.

This old man tried to tell a guy and his boyfriend that they weren't proper, being out in public together.

Some people do that.

Not really... it's usually rather hard to make me upset.

They're so cruel to people they think are too different.

I’d love to do that, but my mom wants me to actually focus on something other than collecting ‘crap’ as she calls it. 

You know, since you are studying environmental science, you could always ask to have class outside. One on one interaction with your subject matter and all that.

That’s true. I’ve always had that ‘save the planet’ mind-set for as long as I can remember. Might as well learn about it. 

I have too, but I don't think I could sit through years of classes about it. I'd get distracted and want to be actually outside.

Keeping your options open is good. 

That's what I think! Why waste time on something if I wind up hating it?

I don't have a major right now. I'm trying to find something I like.

Then we should teach them how to take care of their trash properly.

I collect things and yell at people when they drop trash on the floor. Do those count? 

Of course they count. I hate trash on the floor too, but yelling at people isn't nice. Some people aren't really taught any better, and that's awful.
