What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You thi

Aleks does not question the angry words spoken from Lilli, even if he cannot understand what exactly is being said he can understand the tone well enough. Itâs a low, angry one that speaks of a deep hurt, one that may not easily be resolved by fighting or shouting at one another. Unfortunately, the Norwegian is not at all qualified or able to soothe that kind of hurt, or even give a helpful word. He is merely the muscle, keeping Lilli from tearing her brother to shreds.
Even if he would love to see it, Aleks knew that it would do no one any good. The people that loved ThĂ©o were people that Aleks loved dearly, and to facilitate his harm would be the same to cause their hurt.Â
But, his worry is far more the groggy, strung-out Dane in the hospital bed, now being tended by a rigid-shouldered Emma who slipped past the trio in silence. Her presence at least set Aleks at the slightest bit of ease. âNo killing each other. Or, if youâre gonna do it, go do it in the ER.â Aleks says slowly, releasing Lilli and merely moving back to sit at Mathiasâ bedside. This was not his fight any longer.

@lilli-of-the-mountain @concilliationinternationale
ThĂ©oâs grey-blue eyes do not miss the way that Lilli trashes and wiles around in Aleksâ arms. He doesnât miss the low, angry words coming from her, spitting nastily at him. He deserves the words and he knows he does but it doesnât make it any the easier to take them from Lilli of all people. Emma slips past him and ThĂ©o huffs out quietly, wiping the last of his blood from his face before stepping outside. There wasnât too much more to be said here, Lilliâs ire can be felt for kilometres and the Dane in the room was so fucking strung out that he wasnât going to be any use to mediate the situation, likely as much as he he would want to. âThere wonât be any killing, Aleksander. Promise.â He mutters a bit louder than intended, watching Lilli be released from Aleksâ arms. He was tired. Heâd misspoke and now this mayhem was happening. None of it, absolutely none of it was worth it. âLills--â ** @lilli-of-the-mountainâ @overthefjordsâ
eisfrendinâ:
âEnough.â
Emma was standing in the doorway, a tray of antibiotics held against her hip. Had she known it was going to take a half hour to draw up and give her the medication she needed for Mathias, she would not have sent Théo to check on him. She would have sent him down to wait at the pharmacy window, and would have come in herself.
Which clearly would have been the better idea considering Aleks was restraining Lilli who looked ready to tear someoneâs heart from their body, and ThĂ©o was leaning against the en suite door, looking shocked out of his mind with what looked to be a bloody nose.
âHallway. Now.â Her voice was sharp, a hardness to her face that was scarcely seen on her delicate features. She stepped into the room, pointing out into the hall. âI wonât have you three causing mayhem in this ward.â
@lilli-of-the-mountainâ @danmarks-styrkeâ @concilliationinternationaleâ
ThĂ©o shoved his hair off of his forehead with an annoyed huff, dragging his hand below his nose to wipe away the blood. Finally, he opted to just press the sleeve of his coat to his nose to stave the bleeding. He shouldâve just stayed downstairs and not bothered... Emma seemed pissed and frankly, ThĂ©o didnât blame her. To come into her patientâs room with Aleksander holding back Lilli who was acting like a spitting cat and her own affianced standing to the side with a bleeding nose, ThĂ©o wouldâve had much the same reaction. He peeled himself off the door, stalking past Lilli and Aleks, hand going back under his nose. He wasnât going to argue with Emma, she was absolutely terrifying when angry and he didnât want to incur her wrath any further. âIt was a simple misunderstanding,â ThĂ©o muttered softly. âI meant no ill. I canât say I ever expected my little sister to give me a bloody nose--â ** @lilli-of-the-mountainâ @eisfrendinâ @overthefjordsâ

lilli-of-the-mountainâ:
Despite Lilliâs quiet urgings, ThĂ©o persists in taking vitals on Mathias. She knows her brother. He is a wickedly intelligent man. She knows he understood perfectly the pleas hidden among her words to him. To please stop. To think of his own safety and to think of the two men whose hearts he laid bare not even a century ago.Â
Lilli can feel the tension rising with each step Théo takes, as well as an indignation growing. She knows what he did. She knows nearly all the intimate details and has kept her peace because, frankly, it is none of her business. But by electing to flaunt it in front of Aleksander and herself, Théo all but makes it her business.
lilli-of-the-mountainâ:
Lilli resumes her seat when Aleksâ feet touch the floor. Though her eyes remain firmly fixed upon Mathias, she reaches blindly for Aleksâ hand, holding it between her own to give him some measure of comfort. His poor nerves must be absolutely ragged with anxiety. She can see it in the hard set of his frame and the fixed determination of his eyes.
She wants to speak but the door opens and in walks ThĂ©o, casual as though this is any other visit. Although Lilliâs heart is glad to see her brother and her smile for him is genuine, she is all too aware of the rising tension in the room. She feels a certain sort of wariness, herself, when he leans over Mathias to check his breathing.
Lilliâs hands tighten their grip on Aleks, more for reassurance and a gentle reminder of where they are than to actually restrain him. She doesnât know how he does it, watching the man who killed his husband tend to him as lovingly as though it never happened. For all the love Lilli has for ThĂ©o, it leaves a bitter note at the back of her tongue just thinking about it.Â
âAleksander just told me,â Lilli speaks up for Aleks, figuring that her part will smooth over any further tensions, âHe says that whatever Emma gave Mathias is working. For the cracked ribs, he said. From coughing.âÂ
âThĂ©o, shouldnât he rest? The nurses will be for rounds soon enough, regardless.â Not that Lilli wants to ignore entirely Emmaâs orders in this regard. Honestly, what was she thinking sending ThĂ©o of all people in to do this? With any other patients it would be fine. But Mathias? âPlease. You are not working. You should not push yourself so. Come and sit with us. Iâm sure she will be here shortly.âÂ
@danmarks-styrkeâ @concilliationinternationaleâ
âDid he?â ThĂ©o remarked off-handedly, continuing to do what he was doing, a hand reaching back to grab Mathiasâ chart and read over it, gnawing gently on his bottom lip. He marked Mathiasâ heart rate, breathing-- all the necessary statistics to ensure that he was doing somewhat okay. The Swissman tapped his pen against the clipboard, glancing over to Lilli. The way she held Aleksâ hand was not lost on him and his brows furrowed somewhat at her commentary. Did she not trust him? What...what did she know? Thatâs what ThĂ©o wanted to know and his steel blue gaze slid over to Aleksander, the Norwegianâs gaze heavy and dark as it stared fiercely into ThĂ©o. It almost made the Swissman feel small, having been on the other end of those strong hands and brutal like nature. And Aleksander would do anything for Mathias. Anything.
âYeah, four cracked ribs-- thatâs nastyâ The Swissman said slowly, trying to keep his nonchalant air around him, not let the tension in the room get to him. It was understandable, truly, but ThĂ©o just wanted to give Emma some help. âHe is resting, Lilli.â His voice is almost sharp, although it fell as he muttered under his breath. âSeventy-five years and itâs still as if his lungs are fighting the plague. Simply fascinating...â ** @lilli-of-the-mountainâ @danmarks-styrkeâ
danmarks-styrkeâ:
With Mathias cosy under his quilt, Aleksâ attention was drawn to Lilli as she wandered in. He pulled his feet from the empty chair, allowing the woman to take up her spot once more. âIâd say so, he fell asleep and kind ofâŠâ Aleks made a little gesture to the Dane, whose gaze was tired but completely unfocused. Mathias registered the Lilli was in the room, but he mostly noticed the movement and less the person who was moving
He was just tired. So, so tired and everything was soft and bright and keeping his eyes open was draining him further. This was why he hated hospitals; he could never get a dark enough room to sleep much in. Well. Unless he was on pain meds. Like now.
âI couldnât tell you exactly what she gave him, but I think itâs for the ribs he managed to crack with his coughing.â Aleks continued with a shrug, rubbing a hand through Mathiasâ hair and lightly touching his cheeks, which were still warm. âIâm guessing she went to get something else. But,â He smiled, looking back to Lilli. âYou know you could have eaten in here, I donât think Matti is going to care. I certainly donât.â
@lilli-of-the-mountain @concilliationinternationaleâ
Whenever a nation fell ill, their care fell to four potential people: Mathias, Emma, Christiane, or ThĂ©o. Sometimes Gemma if she could tear herself away from her plants long enough to actually see who needed her help. But when one of those four people fell ill, it seemed that the rest had to come and see what was going on. Mathias was often the one they were tending to; 70 years ago having more than left their scar on the Dane with ThĂ©o wholly to blame. Frankly, the Swissman was surprised that Aleksander had tolerated his presence in the room, albeit grumbling the whole while. He didnât necessarily blame him, it was ThĂ©o that had practically damned the Dane to begin with. But he was a curious and had been with Emma doing rotations that day, so here he was.
Much to everyoneâs chagrin it seemed.
With Emma held up, it was ThĂ©o who came in to check on Mathias, his knuckles gently rapping on the wood of the door before letting himself in, his smirk like smile crossing his face. âGood afternoon,â He said quietly, shutting the door behind him as he walked in. âEmma got held up, sheâll be in momentarily but sent me on ahead. Howâs he doing?â ThĂ©o wandered over to the Dane, his eyes catching his sisterâs briefly as he crouched to gently press his stethoscope to Mathiasâ chest, not bothering to ask the Dane to do anything seeing how strung out he was. The tension in the room was damned palpable.

âHave you ever tried to get a place? I mean, I canât imagine youâd have much trouble getting special permission.â Jordan may or may not assume that every nation gets the freedom to do basically whatever they want. ThĂ©o seems responsibleânot quite trustworthyâenough to not take advantage of that, at least now that theyâre in the 21st Century. The comment on the cost doesnât surprise her, nor does the image of Aleks and Mathias forking out the cost of renting one, although, she could also imagine them camping out like Brokeback Mountain.Â
âYou havenât climbed it, then?â Jordan shouldnât be too surprised, given that she hasnât climbed every mountain in the US (yet), but to think he hasnât even given a mountain that famous a try when itâs right there. âOr do you just want a review for Yelp?â
At this stage, Jordanâs own hiking poles are mostly being used as decoration at this point. Every now and then she might spot a loose rock that she prods until it rolls down the side of the trail. She pauses in the middle of one such act of vandalism, distracted by the sight of a squirrel doing its best to camouflage in the snow. âOh, heâs cute. Do you know him?â
âI honestly did think about it for awhile,â ThĂ©o says with a soft hum. âI can easily get one, I already have all the permits and whatnot. Itâs just actually doing it.â He definitely hesitated over a lack of persons to share said home with-- but he seems to have turned over a new leaf. Whatever that means in the longer term has yet to be decided, but ThĂ©o thinks that perhaps being engaged and the grumbling reluctance of Bastian to allow ThĂ©o back into the family is maybe going to work in his favour, do him better. âMatterhorn? No. No desire to, either. Itâs a technically challenging climb. I am not a skilled climber, Iâm an alpine skier when it comes to sports.â ThĂ©o replies easily.  âYelp reviews?â He gives Jordan an odd look. Heâs still not on the up and up with this silly technology thing. âWhatâs Yelp?â
ThĂ©o glances behind him a moment to ensure Jordan is still there before continuing to move ahead. Theyâre nearing the icefell and itâs a technically challenging walk. He hopes she has crampons (not that he didnât bring some for her just in case.) âItâs...a squirrel. I hate to break it to you, but I happen to not know every squirrel in Switzerland.â
Mikael is leaning in the doorway to Théo's lab, a visitor's badge stuck to his sweater. "Were you going to wait until the day before your wedding to even mention that you were engaged?"
ThĂ©o leaned back in his chair and sighed heavily, taking off his safety glasses and gloves, getting up to go and wash his hands. âMaybe. Iâve been holed up in my lab for the past ...however long.â Messing with things he shouldnât be, really. He smiles and wanders over to Mik, clapping his friend on the back. âItâs good to see you, Mikael.â

"Théo, may I ask you something?" Lilli lifts her head from her brother's shoulder to look at him. This cuddling session has been everything she needed. She's missed Théo and now that his latest wicked rotation is over, she can spend time with him again. "If there was a gentleman who set his cap at me, what would you think?"
ThĂ©o glances down at his little sister, his fingers carefully playing with the ends of her hair. He had been half asleep watching whatever movie they had on the television and Lilliâs words immediately woke him up. Emma out so itâs just brother and sister cuddling. âSet his cap?â His face scrunches up at the wording, wracking his brain for more archaic ways of saying things. And then it clicks. âOh!â ThĂ©o chuckles. âIâd say heâd better be worthy of your time. Although, in my opinion, no one is.â He gently tweaks her nose.

@concilliationinternationaleâÂ
It may come as a surprise to some that Jordan loves herself some good quality time with nature. Being outside makes her feel great, and also creates a lot of perfect opportunities to take awesome pictures for Instagram that make it look like she doesnât spend most of her life on her couch watching Buzzfeed Unsolved marathons. Dragging ThĂ©o along was a bonus, a free tour guide for her and sheâs sure that he could benefit from getting into her good graces (because of being America and all that).Â
âSo, can you like, own real estate out here?â For the most part, she couldnât say that she had seen any signs of civilization once they got onto the trail, but that might just be because the Swiss have some sort of advanced anti-litter technology that they wonât share with the rest of the world. A place to sit wouldnât be too terrible, though. âYouâd probably make bank renting out a place here.âÂ
ThĂ©o grimaced as he trekked alongside Jordan, using his hiking poles to ensure that they werenât going to be traversing into ground that was unstable. Last thing he wanted was the world to be on his arse for the death of a rep. Again. He has no idea how JJ managed to get him out of his hospital for a few breaths of fresh air; normally he does this sort of activity with Emma or Lilli if sheâs willing. But he supposed it would be better to guide the American through the Alps rather than some teenager working for the season.
âNo. Not unless you get special permission from the government. This is all protected land. There are some cabins up here for hikers and those trying to summit the Matterhorn. Aleks and Mathias have done it a couple times, avid mountaineers those two. May ask them about it.â He snorts at the mention of money and nods. âTheyâre not cheap to rent, Iâll give you that.â
eisfrendinâ:
Gently snapping the lid back onto the container of pho in her hands, Emma let ThĂ©o tip her chin up, powder blues finding steel grey. It wasnât as if Emma really was expecting anything bad, but sometimes the uncertainty of things liked to gnaw at her insides. So, to hear thatâs all ThĂ©o was asking? Emma just slightly leaned into the hand against her skin.
âNeither of you have the power to keep me from doing what I want.â Not too long ago, Emmaâs agency had been relegated to whichever empirical power had collared her at the time. No longer, though; her freedom to choose was the one thing she would fight for. âHome is wherever we decide. I⊠Have little objection to staying. If thereâs dire need for me at home, itâs only five hours. Besides,â Emma grins a bit, reaching to stroke over the Swissmanâs cheek. âThe HUG has been pestering me for years for a research position.â
Easily ThĂ©o cupped her cheek, thumb gently stroking at the soft skin of her face before he leaned in and pressed his lips to her forehead. He was unwilling to part, unwilling to let go that of which he had mussed up so terribly over seventy years ago and still faced the consequences of. Hell, he grimaced at those consequences every time he heard a certain Dane cough quietly and saw him grimace, hand to his chest. While he wasnât necessarily as remorseful as he should be, he was remorseful to losing that which he loved the most. And to think that she was so willing to fall back into his arms was testament to Emmaâs forgiveness and kindness. He needed to earn all their trust back, likely he never would. But he would try.
âThey have, have they?â ThĂ©o asked quietly, brushing her hair from her face âAnd what say you to their request?â
lilli-of-the-mountainâ:
She bites back a groan at the pounding in her head when ThĂ©o pulls her into his arms. The congestion is awful and it throbs at a steady and wholly unpleasant pace. The medicine she took is supposed to help this. Has it been long enough for another dose, yet?â
âI ate this morning,â she offers, opting now to make ThĂ©oâs shoulder her pillow. Her eyes flutter shut and she sighs at the comfort of his gentle touch against her cheek. How many times has he had to care for her like this? How will she be able to return the favor? âSoup.â
âShhh.â ThĂ©o gently shushes, pressing his fingers gently to Lilliâs temples, rubbing out the pain as best he could. âEasy does it now. Just rest a bit and Iâll get you some medicine. Have you taken any?â He murmured. âOr if you had, when have you taken iit?â He nods, carding his fingers through Lilliâs hair gently, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. âMmm, good. Soup is good for you. Iâll get you some in a few hours, okay? How many days have you been like this?â
eisfrendinâ:
âNearly.â What was a hundred years to people like themselves? Nothing. It was little more than the blink of an eye. Emma moved the containers aside to allow for the decanter on the coffee table, pulling her feet up onto the sofa when Guinnie flopped down onto the rug.
Container of pho in hand, Emma looked over at ThĂ©o as he sunk into the sofa beside her. âIâm all ears,â Was her quiet reply, popping the lid open on the container and occupying herself with sipping on the warm broth. That sigh made her the slightest bit concerned, but figured what would be the worst thing that would come out fo his mouth?
âNearly.â He looked over to Emma and gave a small smile to her, kissing her softly. âSweetie, look at me.â He carefully tipped Emmaâs head up, eyes catching hers. âItâs nothing bad. I was just going to ask you, where you wanted to set up home base?â ThĂ©o grimaced. Bastian would despite this. Taking his sister even further away from him? No. The Belgian might put his foot down. But, this was Emmaâs decision. Not his. And ThĂ©o wanted to ensure that his fiancĂ©e had the opportunity to say and do what she wanted. âI know I canât keep you from Luxembourg, of course, your brother would murder me where I stand. But I want you to know that...â He made a sweeping gesture to house. âThis...I want this to be your home.â

lilli-of-the-mountainâ:
ThĂ©o hangs up and Lilli barely sets her phone aside on the mattress before she is asleep once more. This has been the pattern for the past few days, slipping in and out of sleep, occasionally getting up to tend to the pets or dump some soup in a pot. It hasnât been the most exciting life, but when could she ever claim to have that?
Sophieâs growling at ThĂ©oâs entrance to her room has Lilli shifting beneath the blankets. Not knowing the source of the dogâs irritation, she quietly shushes her, only opening her eyes at the weight of ThĂ©oâs hand on her forehead. âOh, BrĂŒeder,â she rasps, her brow furrowing at his drawn features, âYou look so tiredâŠâ
âIâm fine.â ThĂ©o murmurs gently, carefully nudging Lilli over in bed so he can sit next to her and draw her into his arms, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. âA few days like this, huh?â He asks, carefully dragging his fingers through his sisterâs hair before dragging his hand down her cheeks again, checking her temperature for what felt like the millionth time.Â
âHave you eaten?â She looks something awful, shivering, flushed, buried under her covers and trying to hide from the world. ThĂ©o wanted nothing more but to cradle her and protect her from the illness that her body was trying to fell her with. âOr taken your temperature recently?â
eisfrendinâ:
A pinot noir was fineâ Emma would have been just as happy with some tea. âMy dear, I do think we need to update your collection. Perhaps with bottles from this century.â The date merely sent a small chill down her spine; that year had been bad for so many reasons. But, there were also bright spots in those few short snowy weeks of January. Turning her gaze to her love, Emma merely gave him a smile with her chin resting on Guinnieâs broad head.Â
âIâll bring some along the next time I head home.â Though, this was also her home, even if there were little to no indication of it just yet. There was more to consider now than ever, but not tonight, there could be conversations of living arrangements later. No doubt he would want her here as much as possible.
âIt hasnât quite been 100 years yet my dear, not for these bottles.â But he grimaces at the date, certainly not wanting the grim reminder of what he had done to probably one of the kindest, most undeserving of cruelty people on this planet. He popped the cork and aired the bottle out, carefully straining it through cheese cloth and into the decanter.Â
That would be a good idea...getting bottles from the 2000s. âThat would be appreciated.â He sat their glasses down alongside the decanter and plopped down again with a heavy sigh. âI...wanted to talk to you about ....that.â
