Personality: Keiko is a stubborn and short-tempered person who rarely takes orders unless it’s from someone she can tolerate. She has a fiery personality, mainly with the help of her father’s encouragement growing up to be brave and tough. Keiko’s friendliness usually turns into physical affection, mainly with neck hugs, poking, playfully punching another’s shoulder, and so on. She’s usually one with a burning spirit too with those she considers friends. The burning spirit is also a major influence on how she stands up for herself and doesn’t back down from a threat (unless a superior orders her to retreat). Keiko does have survival instincts as well, so she will adapt to situations if her life is in danger, much like how she ends up captured by the vampires.
Squad: Saburo Squad. Consists of Sergeant Okura Saburo (leader, deceased), Kono Tsukasa (private, deceased), Yanagimachi Tamaki (private, deceased), Mitsue Chiho (private, deceased), Hatsuma Keiko (private, MIA). - This squad was one who got along well and had great teamwork. Saburo was like a big brother (about 3-6 years older based on others’ ages) to the whole squad and a great mentor who had a good sense of humor. All of the privates were rowdy and goofballs together, but they also were serious and communicated well when necessary. Their main weakness though was how it was hard to control one another if one lost their temper/got too emotional in battle, which led to their downfall against the vampires. Another flaw being that Saburo wasn’t able to call for other squads to back them up soon enough, leaving them stranded as a one squad when their fate hit them.
Family: Hatsuma Iemochi (father, deceased: cause - plague), Fujimori (remarried) Saki (mother, deceased: cause - plague), Fujimori Tamotsu (stepfather, deceased: cause - plague), Hatsuma Koyo (brother, age +5 of Keiko’s, status unknown)
Background: Keiko was a child who loved martial arts and was encouraged heavily by her single (divorce at age 3, father took Keiko while mother took her brother) father growing up to be involved in MMA and also beginning sword fighting at age eight. Keiko’s father was one of many not vaccinated when the outbreak happened and ended up alone in the home they shared. Keiko was able to avoid the vampires that inspected the home and soon fled afterward and did her best to stay in hiding, keeping her only weapon with her as self-defense. As the rebuilding of humanity started, Keiko was fast to enlist in the JIDA to be one of their soldiers, although she was never offered the option of obtaining a demon weapon, which she is content with. She soon grows older, and by the age of fifteen has her first encounter with a vampire when her squad is stationed to observe an area and are attacked by the enemy. The vampire encountered is Ferid Bathory and only Keiko is the last survivor against him. For reasons still unknown to her, he let her live while keeping her alive and taking her back to his section (removing weapons of course). She is now stuck in a lifestyle of being a personal servant/bloodbag for Ferid that he keeps private in his dwellings. Sometimes Crowley becomes involved, depending on the situation as he is also of the Michaela trait. It is common now for Keiko to find ways to escape and return to her former life with humans no matter how many times she fails.
Much like how there’s a Michaela trait for males, there is the Astarte trait for females, named after the Ancient Phoenician moon goddess of fertility. It is just as rare as the Michaela trait, but Keiko is one with the trait due to her family lineage, being the most recent one after a few hundreds of generations.
While Keiko doesn’t know of this trait, it goes unnoticed even by the JIDA as they don’t realize it at the time and Keiko doesn’t show abilities of it. Even most vampires cannot tell as it seems the bloodline in Keiko is worn thin and almost nonexistent.
While Keiko doesn’t really remember her older brother, she would like to find him and meet him if he is still alive.
