If you see this on your dashboard, reblog this, NO MATTER WHAT and all your dreams and wishes will come true.
Oh hey! Havenāt seen this in forever! Didnāt reblog it when it came across me before, not gonna skip it this time, I need some good vibes.
I, too havenāt seen this in forever! Reblogging for good luck!
thereās absolutely something to be said about ābooktokā books being largely wattpad quality written erotica iām certainly not reading them however having seen a guy on tiktok make a video like āall the women in your life are READING PORNā about a book he picked up and read in his FEMALE FRIENDāS HOUSE in a tone of scandalised horror and disgust i actually donāt think men should be making those criticisms. he said he picked it up expecting a romance and was horrified it was GOONER SHIT he said specifically like āwho are you getting your pussy wet FOR??ā in a tone of revulsion. idk man im not sure shes the weird one. i kind of wish you were dead
"a lot of books that are successful on booktok are not very good" and "people can read what they want and we need to stop being so fucking weird about women enjoying erotica" are both correct statements
just unfollowed someone for rbing anti-manhating sentiments. it's very weird to me and I'm not sorry. there's a rise in conservatism and a big societal push to strip women of our rights and make us men's property, and your biggest priority is lecturing women on how we talk about men?? fuck right the fuck off actually
"but it hurts their feelings!" it hurts MY feelings when my sisters and mothers don't have rights.
"but it doesn't help your goals!" meanwhile men are beating, raping, oppressing, and killing women everywhere to advance the goals of the patriarchy. don't tell me what I should and should not feel about that.
"but it harms trans men/men of color/other oppressed men!" does it? because trans men and men of color have way more serious shit to deal with than women expressing their feelings on the internet. such as transphobia and racism. meanwhile, women in their communities (trans women, women of color) have to deal with all of that PLUS oppression from the men.
you simply cannot convince me that anti-manhating arguments are anything more than patriarchy propaganda. "unhh we have all the power and rights, but if you don't worship at our feet, you're just as bad as us." fuck offfffff
just unfollowed another person for rbing similar sentiments. I am NOT in the mood

You know what breaks my heart more than anything? Palestinian children are trying to describe the atrocities they're witnessing using English instead of their native tongue to try and get their message heard globally. Palestinian children are also describing the scenes in Gaza while sounding like grown ups and not children because they've witnessed too much at such a young age. These children were deprived of their childhood. Their circumstances forced them to mature and be able to talk about watching their loved ones die. They are literally trying to speak a second language to try and call world leaders to stop killing them and their loved ones. World leaders cannot even utter the word "ceasefire" while a Palestinian child had to explain on camera that she recognized her friend's body only by her coat because her friend's body was beheaded in the bombings.
It's not a conflict; it's ethnic cleansing.
It's not a conflict; it's colonialism.
And if you're somehow convinced that any of this is about religion or antisemitism, I recommend you read this.
thereās something so insane about people who used to love putting āfree Palestineā in their bio now deciding they have pearls in need of clutching. how did you think Palestine was going to be freed? did you think that if we all wrote āfree Palestineā in our blog titles the world would just say oh you know what, our bad? did you think if Palestinians protested really, really peacefully, that Netanyahu would be moved? did you think that essays about decolonization published in the neoliberal academy would do the trick?
or did you simply expect Palestinians to wait? to wait and watch every day as their loved ones are killed because they step out of line? as the journalists and medics are shot around them? as Israel commits war crimes against them and the world does nothing? raining white phosphorous down on an open-air prison where the exits are controlled, closed, bombed out? as the Sabra and Shatila massacres are forgotten and repeated and forgotten and repeated and forgotten and repeated in an endless cycle?
when you wrote āfree Palestineā in your bio, what did you think it meant?
Every time an attractive black or poc character gets introduced into Marvel, fans who are of the same race and/or culture as them has to deal with ignorant white authors taking that character and writing the most blatantly offensive and whitewashed fanfics.
Thereās no reason why Namor is speaking Spanish instead of his own native language. Itās not that difficult to do your research and itās clear yāall have no problem doing it when it came to Thor or Loki. Yāall donāt even bother hiding it yet get defensive when someone points it out. Since weāre on this topic, lets not act dumb about his dislike for white people and the LOW chance of him having a white partner like bffrā¦
Lastly, we need to be VERY careful on how Namor is written and not play into stereotypes thatāll harm his character (and also Tenoch himself) in the long run. Yāall donāt seem to know (nor care) how dangerous it is to have him being written as the āaggressorā pursuing the ānaive and innocentā white girl.

Anthony Mackieās interview with The Hollywood Reporter at D23 Expo (2022)
dream when someone fucks with calliope, hob gadling, his older sister, his librarian, his bird pals, abel, a 21 year old orphan and her missing brother, his cool necklace, his time, his patience, cats,
the best part of the calliope bonus episode of the sandman was the absolute care and attention to detail that went into depicting the scary subtleties of men who abuse, exploit, and manipulate women.Ā
the brilliant casting choice ofĀ arthur darvill as richard madoc, a likeable actor who has played likeable characters, someone we would probably never think as a bad guy, to be calliopeās captor. richard madocās claims of being a feminist, citing famous female authors as his source of inspiration, using feminism and anti-racism as a marketing ploy to make himself lookĀ āwokeā, dehumanizing calliope because sheās a muse, because sheās immortal, because he was told not to view her as human.Ā
the single scratch as a symbol of an unforgivable violence, dreamās acknowledgement that his over a century imprisonment is nothing compared to the decades she spent having men forcefully take from her, calliopeās gentle reminder not to compare their traumas because they are different but both valid, dream asserting that richard madoc still must be punished, calliopeās decision to forgive him in the end not for him but for herself, her setting off to rewrite the laws which imprisoned her in the first place and dream vowing to do the same in his realm.Ā
every aspect of this episode is so so relevant and itās handled well at every turn, beautifully adapting its source material, giving its antagonist a punishment from his own mind, giving him an abundance of what he unjustly took from someone else and plaguing him with it until he has nothing left because that is what his actions deserved.Ā
also just the fact that calliope is played by a greek actress. a small detail that i love. thereās just so many good things and itās driving me up the walls in the best way possible because iām so glad we got these bonus episodes, iām so glad we get to see this.Ā
i want to add to this brilliant post that another great thing about her episode was that after decades of abuse and her agency taken from her, dream didnāt continue the abuse. it was all about what calliope wanted to do. ālet me help youā a plea, not a demand. so many stories would of had him barrelling in knowing whatās best and doing it anyway, not this one. he asks her permission at every step, something that neither of her captors would have done. itās all about what she wants to do from the moment he arrives, dream would have probably walked away if sheād changed her mind about wanting his help, not happily mind you, itās clear he cares deeply for calliope and it would have broken his heart to do so but he respects her as well. it brings to mind for me about consent, about how a yes isnāt blanket permission for everything and it can be revoked at any time. dream could have taken calliopes call for help as blanket permission to come in and punish the bad guy and save the day, except he doesnāt, he asks her to let him help instead of taking her call for him as a right to do what he wants. i just love that. i love the complete difference between madocs interactions with calliope where he talks at her and dreams interactions where he talks with her. itās just another subtle thing that really adds to the story.
saw first 7 episodes of sandman today. this is my takeaway so far.

Perhaps a few thousand years in the darkness will reveal your fears. Better that, than to make others afraid. Even a Nightmare can dream, my lord.
