Harvard didn’t need advanced scanners to understand why today was such an important day. E Corp, one of the world’s leading conglomerates, was visiting [REDACTED] University. There would be lectures, seminars, tech giveaways throughout the day— even a handful of workshops for programming and information technology. It was only supposed to be happening for one day, but Harvard heard talk that students hoped the event would be extended throughout the week.
E Corp rivaled CYBERLIFE. It was that far-reaching.
And Harvard knew all of the people visiting campus. There was the acting CEO, the chairmen, the director, the... What was that man’s title? Was it being rewritten? Harvard couldn’t suss it out. All he knew, through sight alone, was that was Mr Tyrell Wellick. With an empty bottle of water in his hand.
Harvard politely moved through a gaggle of undergraduates waiting to interact with one of the stations E Corp had set up in the giant, well-lit auditorium. Harvie made eye contact with a few security guards standing by the podium and beside Mr Wellick, but they didn’t pay him any mind.
It was not in an android’s programming to harm a human being.
“ Mr Wellick, ” he said brightly, holding out his hand for the bottle— or maybe a handshake? Either would work. “ Would you like me to take that away for you? I could also retrieve an unopened water bottle for you. ” Harvard’s standard CYBERLIFE_nametag flashed between his model number and his given name, sensing that he was standing before someone he hadn’t stood in front of before.
