Haven't talked about this for a bit and a half
But I guess it's time to address it again. Because it looks like people have a very very short memory or an inability to apply critical thinking when it comes to what it actually is that JM and JK are to each other.
I've seen some words being thrown around again about the two. The regulars, yes, but I thought we were past this, at least for anyone that isn't a demented cult member. You know, the types that need to post AI created photos and get over 20K likes for made up creepy ass pics.
And I'm gonna veer away from my point for just one tiny little moment to call out Jikookers that create these kind of photos as well. This is creepy and unnecessary. a. We don't need made up moments when JM and JK supply us with so many as is; and b. It's actually deceitful and could also be disrespectful to the two. Whom we supposedly support. Support them and trust them with what they feel they can share with us. Don't make up shit that can possibly hurt them if it goes viral, if people believe it and share it. It makes us look bad (who really cares about that), but it firstly could make them look bad.
Back to the point of this post. Things that people love to say about JM and JK and what is between them. Anything other than the two being an actual couple.
A couple that have a travel show together filled with moments that can't be explained away as friendship or brotherly behaviour.
A couple that chose to go through a whole complex process to enlist in a programme that meant that they will be sent to one of the harder units because of this choice they made. The first idol duos to EVER do this. EVER.
I've been part of this fandom since 2020. And a supporter of Jikook and whatever they are to each other since more or less the same time. October 2020. And this shit, well, it's been around since forever. And me, I've written many a posts about this back way when, but I guess that I need to say it again in 2026.
People need some reminding.
On the one hand we have those that scream jikook are fanservice. Yes, even in 2026.
To them I say: where's my fucking fanservice bitch?
If these two, 2 members of the biggest band in the world, not kids, fully pledged adults, are bound by an arbitrary contract since 2015 more or less, forcing them to pretend to have a bond that isn't real, then I'm sorry, but they are in clear breach of said contract.
I object your honour!!
Give me my promised fanservice!!!
Funny how even in 2026, post military service, post AYS seasons 1 and 2, we are still getting either of them interacting more with other members than with each other.
And what better time to move on to the other claim. The other way to write their relationship off, name it something else as long as it's not calling them a couple. Cause eww... no gay allowed.
So, on the other hand, to those that clear as day see the two are most definitely the closest duo in the group (the first and only idols to enlist with the buddy system is one clue of many, their level of intimacy in AYS and the clear choice to spend that time together could be another) but are only friends, brothers, best mates, I ask: if so, if that's all they are, why are they the two that interact the least on stage? If all is innocent and dandy and no gayness detected EVERY SINGLE TIME they do interact (which most definitely isn't much), then why don't they do so more often?
Please explain that to me, cause the math, it ain't mathing.
What do we get?
We get those stolen moments in the dark.
When the lights are out. When the cameras aren't on them. When they think we might not be watching.
And even that has been cut down to a minimum.
Oh, maybe because when we do get them interacting we get this:
Yes, definitely brotherly love going on there.
Yes, they do slip up at times, lol. And they get loud. And then they go silent for the next 4 concerts.
So pray tell me, if this was fanservice and it was so important to the company to be pushing this duo (may I remind that this is the least popular duo in the fandom - because of what they look like of course - discussion for another day), then why aren't we getting it????
And/or if they are just close friends, why the minimum interactions and why the clearly frustrated group leader when they finally do interact?? Why is there never an issue when TKK interact or when JK is hanging off Jin? No looks or nudges or frustrated faces. But when JM and JK are at it there is always a worried or frustrated frown going on.
If there is nothing there, if there isn't a chance they could go "too far" or show "too much" then why the apprehension?
Seriously.
You know exactly why.
Oh, and before I leave you, let's repeat my mantra one more time (because shit, it looks like many Jikookers have forgotten it already):
NOT SEEING THEM TOGETHER DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NOT TOGETHER
This has been proven time and time again over the years.
This is about them being happy and safe. Not about us being right or vindicated or getting the feels when we do get to see them interacting (because they are cute and happy and lovely and everything that is good in this world).
