the winner did not love her more.
he simply had the courage to act on it.
the winner takes it all they say
while the loser stands at the distance seeing them together
with the hopeless love in his heart he never got the chance to show
make space for
but did they ever think why the winner really takes it all?
the loser yearned more than the winner they say
he spent sleepless nights in hope and imagination
feeling everything about her
making and erasing the dreams and steps he so wants to take
but he does not....
for what he lacks is not the love
he knows it
he can love her more than anything in the world
give her the whole world
he smiles slowly a painful streak of pang obvious on his face
she doesn't want the world
the realisation hits
why the winner takes it all?
because what she wants, needs, is really something simple
Courage
the courage to show up
the courage to actually be with her
the courage to stop pretending he doesn't get affected
the courage to start accepting his own self
the courage to evolve and grow together
with her...
the courage to fight with his own fears...
not for her really
but for his own self
and the winner knows it...
feels it..
has the courage
the presence
to live with that pure smiling heart,
to accept his own self, heart and flaws
he did it
and he couldn't...
he gulps, the throat tightening with the suffocation of his own internal world
as if the pure soul inside she once saw, smiled at, touched... is fighting to escape from him
making him feel he isn't the right person to reside in
that cant be true right?.....
he stares at her, with him, smiling...
a real one
her face glowing
the loving peaceful stare
the carefree posture
as if she has got her whole world in him
he looks away, the stone masked face still entact
pretence of nonchalance residing in him like a routine
eager enough to fight with the voice inside, to numb it once again
to numb everything inside him that screams at him for a change
to evolve
to grow
as if it never existed
she never existed
sweat breaks on his hands as he tries to wipe it again and again on his pants
a disgusting reminder of the numbness
she still matters
a sweet voice breaks him out of his disrupted world
the voice that he's trying to apply as a glue to piece together the unfitted pieces
he smiles wide enough at her, pulling her closer
pouring the all love out
performative..
"lets go?"
"lets go"
and thats how he gets the answer of how the winner took it all.....
and the linerging question of can he ever break the loser apart?
