I want to feel romantic love but apparently I can only feel horny and very clingy (aroallo)

aromantic and asexual just mean experiencing attraction in a different way from the "norm", not a complete lack of attraction. limited attraction (gray), only secondary/primary attraction (demi/fray), fluctuating attraction (flux), etc. all fall under the aromantic and asexual spectrums. you can still be aspec even if you've experienced attraction.

don't get me wrong, i love all the positivity around being aro, like "be proud of being aro!! love who you are!!", but we never talk about how hard it is to reach that spot. so here's to the aros who are still trying to understand themselves, who aren't proud of who they are yet, who are still coming to terms with their new identity.

Some people prefer being single. Some people aren't very concerned about whether they're in a relationship or not. Being in a long term committed relationship isn't an important goal for everyone.

Repulsion follows its own rules, however your sex or romance repulsion works, and however consistent or inconsistent it is, is normal.

I think the phrase that punches me in the face most often when it comes to amatonormativity is “more than friends” because it’s everywhere so I can’t escape it, but no one means anything by it so my frustration feels irrational.
