HE WILL by Ellie Holcomb I used to listen to this song revving up as I got off the bus for work, an upbeat declaration that God is totally able :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn4qY0pC4Z4 Thinking this morning about faith: _Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible._ [Heb 11:1-3 NKJV] I was deeply moved a few weeks ago when I read the word study of πίστις _pistes_, the word faith in Greek in Strong’s concordance (https://biblehub.com/greek/4102.htm). A few highlights: Faith is always a gift from God, and never something that can be produced by people — it is God’s _divine persuasion_ that he grants to us. A _divine spark_ that he places within us. It’s not a virtue that can be worked up by human effort. He allots to each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:2-3). He invites us to abound in faith. He tells as that what is without faith is sin (Romans 14:23) *”so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible”* to access the faith he gives to us, is to choose to live beyond our visible realities <3 But first, faith But last, faith Today’s was a long sharing, thanks for listening!
