⚠︎Well Auron's 25 at that point of the story and Braska's 35 but I guess it's fine. Jecht's age is not stated but is estimated roughly at mid-30s too.⚠︎

Reasoning: When you're set on a journey to sacrifice your life for the Calm, I guess you might want to find some comfort in the arms of your teammates near the end. Braska lost his wife to Sin, Jecht knows at some point he'll never going to see his wife again, and Auron could have had a wife, but refused. And you can see Auron and Jecht first bicker, than warm up to each other, in what's at least a strong friendship. Auron's devasted by both his friend's sacrifices.
