i love how you can't fully tell which body is aware and, in the moment, autonomous (fake, One Wish Willow Entity or Nikki) in the scene where she screams "It's got me, it's got me". because, quite frankly, it looks like a terrifying combination of both. Her eyes peering straight ahead in nothing resembling 'full' awareness whilst bludgeoning herself and only seemingly reacting to the hits as if they are a reset of sorts.

in that moment, was it her attempting to escape the entity, or was the entity putting her in her place? was it both, all at once...? the slow shift into a smile was the icing on the cake for me, though... the stark difference between the intensity and bare "normalcy" of her words paired with her face adjusting around her split and pouring wound with a smile on her face was visual perfection. it was like you could see Nikki being snatched to the very recesses of her mind and supposed order coming back into a place that otherwise veers on the edge and spills into chaos. it was a seamless and inexplicable psychological click.
