The last stop in our post-graduation getaway. And it was the best ever! The people were so nice! The place was so nice! The food was so nice! Everything was so freaking nice and I just want to get back there soon!!!
Going to Batad itself was difficult. A lot of walking. Good thing I love trekking.

It was very rocky and it was difficult to walk and the water’s really cold but it was sun. If you plan to chill here with your friends, make sure to bring your own booze. The booze here is quite expensive.
I brought the wrong lens, thus I couldn’t take a good photo of the falls.
We stayed in a nipa hut. No electricity or whatsoever. Btw, there’s no signal in Batad. A great place to literally escape from the world!
To the place we stayed in (Ramon’s Homestay). Mang Ramon and his relatives (especially Mang Raul, the one on the film, his niece and our guide) were really, really nice!!! When you decide to stay here as well, make sure to ask Mang Ramon to hold a bonfire so you could hang out with the other travelers who’s staying there as well.

Overall, Batad was the best thing that ever happened to me on this trip. That was the time where I realized I like the sweat and difficulty of trekking. I like backpacking. So, I’m trying to constantly do that. Backpacking. Still learning. Still beginning. But I’m having fun.
It wasn’t the best of our post-graduation getaway but I had fun in Baguio. We ate good food (at Tsokolatier, 50′s Diner and Just Another Damn Good Sick Joint) and went to a spa.
Also, we went to La Preza because of a whim of a friend (Warning: It wasn’t worth it.)
I also loved the night market there although I didn’t buy anything.
Most of our time here was spent walking because we don’t know what jeepney to get on and we’re too frugal to ride a cab.

There were a lot of places we went to but all of the other photos are on my phone and I’m a lazyass kid to transfer it on my laptop. I am so sorry.
It all started there, in Ilocos. And I don’t think I could start my new found calling anywhere else. The trip wasn’t perfect. There were times that we got disappointed and sad and frustrated. But it was all part of the experience.

All I can say is that there was way too many tourist. I’m not blaming anyone tho since it was summer so it was bound to happen.

If I remember it correctly, they say this is the fourth longest bridge in the Philippines. This is the way to Cagayan Valley Region.

I planned to walk towards the last windmill(?) but I failed. It was too faraway. Although the crashing of the big waves and silence since no tourist dared to walk the extra mile was worth the walk and the sand in my shoes.

I think most of the people want to experience something new. To get out and get lost. To be in a new place. To get out from home and see the world in a different angle. Some too afraid and some already out there.
I mean, yes, home is comfortable. You know everything there. You have your friends there. You’re there. But once in a while, it’s good for everyone’s sanity to just be surrounded by people and things they have never encountered before. Something new.
Not only do you explore the place and the people, but you explore yourself as well; a part of you have never knew existed.
