Personalised & Unique Wedding Guestbook created from Vintage Book
This beautiful book was created for Ally & Alex and incorporates so many of the things that represent them! They chose the title The Love Letters for their starting book and inside I’ve used maps from areas where they grew up (Cumnor Hill & Farnham Common) and where they spent a lot of time, Liverpool. Alex is a pilot so I sources some vintage drawings of planes, and used a vintage flower book to represent Ally’s career. When people choose maps I always find the place most special to them and put it right at the front, so it’s the first thing the guests see when they come to write in it.
I love the idea of people flicking through and seeing things to mean a lot to the couple, and for them to be able to look back at such a personal wedding gift for years to come.

I’ve been super busy the last few weeks as you can see! My last post was about an elegant, cream guestbook and this one is about a vintage Atlas that the couple chose to represent their love of travelling.
The maps in here are so beautiful! They requested to have a map of Thailand at the front as that where’s they got engaged. Small touches like this are so lovely to have in these guestbooks, they make them extra personal to the couple.
“Looking for a guestbook for our wedding, I knew I didn’t want something bland and impersonal, or that wouldn’t be a meaningful keepsake. Getting something run-of-the-mill off the high street with calligraphy writing and lace on the front was totally not going to work!
I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for, but on discovering Florence’s Vintage Binding Company, I knew I’d found it. She worked with me to find the right book to use – a small vintage atlas, kept me updated on her search, and did a beautiful job in binding in blank pages and embossing our names and wedding date on the front.
It looks great, is personal to us – as we do like to travel and explore – and I can’t wait to get it filled up with messages. It really will be something to treasure, look back on, and pass down.” Annie & Dan, 2016

A Checked Love Affair - Vintage Wedding Guestbook
This was by far one of my favourite wedding guest book commissions to make - I love how personal it is to the couple! Aimee sent me memorabilia from their life together - tickets, receipts, postcards etc and I either bound or adhered them into the book to make it not only something memorable for their wedding but a keepsake for their lives.
I incorporated piste maps from a skiing trip, a receipt from the night they got engaged with a postcard of the restaurant, maps of where they have lived together, entrance stubs from trips in various countries, photographs, a quiz team sheet from their travels, and many more bits and pieces. I embossed the cover with their initials and wedding date too.
There’s plenty of room for their guests to write around the pages, while looking at elements that are a testament to their life together and their travels around the globe.
As promised, here the film trailer I’ve made to give people looking on my website a better idea of what the guest books look like.
It can be a little tricky to explain to people sometimes how it works with creating my guest books, but hopefully 30 seconds of video will do that better than I can!
So, been a little quiet on here lately! I’ve been working on three beautiful wedding guest books, all very different and very personal to the couple. This one is for Kerry-Anne and Richard, who chose a Hans Christian Anderson Fairy Tales book as their starting piece, adding in maps from parts of the country where they are from. I love the colour plates and the two different maps together. As usual the paper is extremely good quality 160gsm so is not only perfect for their guests to write in, but also for them to put photos or other letters in to create a keepsake from the wedding.

Hello! I’m Katie, I’m a Visual Communication student at Arts University Bournemouth, and I’ll be posting a little during my visits to The Vintage Binding Co as I am doing some work experience here in the coming weeks.
I’ll be learning all about the business and the lovely books; today Florence has been showing me the process of binding the notebooks and starting your own business, which has been fascinating (and great fun of course!)
The first day of work experience with The Vintage Binding Co was excellent today, and I can’t wait to go again next week! Not only am I gaining invaluable knowledge about running a business, but this is also a fantastic source of information and inspiration to influence my own project, through learning about professional bookbinding techniques which can influence my final outcome, and taking inspiration from the nostalgic charm of her products, and beauty of the handmade. These are some photos I took to record the process that she uses to bind her notebooks, and I’d definitely like to try making my own little notebooks and sketchbooks in a similar way as her products are delightful with so much love and care put into the making of them - I hope I can capture this quality in my own work.
Unfortunately it was the last day of having the lovely Katie here today and I'm really glad she's got so much out of watching how I work! Thank you Katie for all your hard work and wishing you all the best in the future. :)
