Thank you, For giving me this summer. For not leaving after date one, when I, rain-soaked (rain-drenched), sat across from you with smearing mascara, squelching shoes, babbling for over an hour. For the way you shared your umbrella, your couch, your mattress in the middle of the floor with me stealing all the blankets. For one of the best nights of my life: your arms, a hot bath, wine and vanilla-scented soap. For so many kisses and so many beautiful ways to touch and be touched. For allowing me to become less- stressed, high-strung, adult. For giving me more- time to relax, reasons to just breathe, adventures. For telling me how beautiful I am, how smart, how worthwhile. For leaving before it broke me into a million pieces instead of a thousand.Â
Thank you for my short reprieve into blissful wandering. You are welcome back, anytime.
