I have anorexia
But my bones don’t pierce my skin.
You could see me and not tell
Because I am not awfully thin.
I have anorexia,
But my appearance does not show.
The voices are still alive and strong,
However, they may never go.
I have anorexia,
But it was always skinny or die.
The way I was treating my body,
Left physical and mental cry.
I have anorexia,
But my weight loss was praised.
This journey to skinny was unknown,
The methods I used were crazed.
I have anorexia,
But I never was hospitalised.
Even though, I should’ve been,
She carried a very good disguise.
I have anorexia,
But with food I still deprive.
As recovery gets more difficult,
I still won’t be one in five.
I have anorexia,
But I am not my desired size.
Even though it was the worst,
Hospitalisation was the prize.
I have anorexia
And she won’t move away.
Although I despise everything she does,
She made me who I am today.
