For Old Timesâ Sake
âIâm sure weâll find- hey!â Jane suddenly interjects, crossing her arms proudly and looking slightly annoyed before breaking out in a playful grin. âOh, you think I canât handle myself Vakarian? Alright Archangel, youâre on. Of course, Iâll be more than glad to take you home safely. Wouldnât want anything happen to that pretty face of yours.â Woah. Easy there Jane- no need to give away the fact you have a thing for people with scars.Â
They toast and even though itâs only a social thing, not meant to be anything serious, to the Alliance commander, this warmed her heart and reminded her of the bonds she shared with her crew.Â
âThis isnât a date? Aww, too bad. I mightâve actually gone out to the dance floor. Kidding- kidding.â She teases before clinking their glasses together. âTo you and I Garrus. Iâm sure the ass kicking will come to us when we need it.âÂ
Jane downs the shot and the burn is slow but gradual- filling her up with fire as she turns to smile at him again. She was gonna be feeling that later.
âIâm getting some horrible deja vu right now, donât I remember you being extremely fond of my scarred face? Iâm pretty sure that my eyesight is perfectly fine and that arenât a female Kroganâ, he attempted to joke, even though part of him was trying to hide the long breath that he drew at his face being called pretty. Hold it together, Garrus, donât start acting like that after finally finding the chance to sit down with your favourite human after spending some time mourning her apparent loss.
The toast fell so good, so warm and welcoming. Finally, at that blasted city, he felt welcomed, he felt at home and at peace. Suddenly he could hear himself saying to her how nothing in the galaxy could keep them apart. Right now, he was proving those words to be right, and it made him feel more alive than he ever did shooting mercs and saving the galaxy.
âWe could still go to the dance floor, if thatâs something that you want to do. Iâll try not to steal your spotlightâ, he joked, calming himself down. Why was he feeling so...vulnerable? He didnât like this, he needed to be in control of the situation once again, not stuttering and losing his attitude.
âTo the two of us against whatever any galaxy tries to throw at usâ, he agreed as he clinked his own glass and downed the drink. Yes, it may not have been his typical drink order, but it was quite strong. Giving Jane a pat on the shoulder, he left out a small laugh. âThis, this is good stuff..â
