I desperately adore them both so much and so I’ve taken the liberty to figure out a bit about their ages.
Undertaker, Othello, and their respective ages.
I think it’s a very important thing to know about their relationship at times especially when analysing them. So since I am chronically obsessed about Othello, and by extension Undertaker I decided to get my mind working tonight and write a Tumblr post about it!

It is disclosed to us as an audience during Chap. 149 that both Undertaker and Othello knew each other during their time as reapers. During this Othello says an important line which indicates how long they could’ve possibly known each other.
“Silver Fox and I became Grim Reapers at the same time.”
Note: This line changes depending on translator.
This indicates that they have no significant age difference between them when we discuss their Grim Reaper ages. (To point out the obvious) But on another note this increases the chance of them being in the same class as trainees.
This is also a possibility for more parallels between them, and Grell Sutcliffe/William T. Spears.

# ~ Seventy years, fifty years
In Othello and Undertakers dialogue you can piece together little bits that really show that they are old, and I mean older than ALL of the current reapers we have seen in the manga currently. This also allows us to date those other reapers. Othello mentions in his dialogue a specific year which lets us know that they’re definitely older than 70 years old, possibly 80. (You’d be aware of it if you’re a manga reader already.)
“Who attempted to escape from the organisation around seventy years ago.”
This tells us that they’re older than seventy years old (in the amount of time being reapers that is) but it also hints to us that they’re possibly older than that which is why I brung up being above eighty years of age. They most likely had some sort of communication (potentially brief) for more than thirty years as Grim Reapers if that estimate turns out to be correct.
When Undertaker attempted to escape he just from Othello’s dialogue was already an established person within the dispatch which would’ve definitely taken a couple of years to build up. (Which can eliminate the possibility of him doing it not too long after becoming a reaper)
Undertaker successfully escaped fifty years ago in canon. Which means for that fifty years they could and or couldn’t have had any contact between the two. There’s still a lot of bits unresolved between them and their mystery which is why it cannot be definitely defined.
Please write more Underthello though as it’s so good and you write them so amazingly and I will never get over the fic I just read thank you very much. (I did burst out into tears upon seeing a new Underthello fic)

Wait so people become grim reapers by suicide and the undertaker was alive and knew Ciel’s father and Diederich. So that must mean he committed suicide when they were like 17-19? That also throws out the window my theory that the undertaker is Ciel’s grandfather. Ahhh I don’t know what to think but I’m so invested!
I recommend you read the manga!! The grandfather theory makes a lot more sense (alongside Undertaker making more sense) with the context of the next chapters that won't be animated next year.
Next year we'll most likely see the newest season, which introduces a character who tells us a lot about Undertaker and gives us a better timeline for him. These happen throughout the blue cult arc and the Blue Memory arc.
I will just say that the Grandfather theory at the moment is very manga-reliant.
Thank you you’ve inspired me to start the manga!! Cuz I need to know more 😭 totally makes sense that the manga would shed a lot more light on the undertaker. I’ve been seeing a lot about Othello too and need to see what they’re about
I am quite the Underthello fan alongside being an extreme Othello fan to the point of saving $500 to buy his merch and commission artists alongside having over 10k messages about him some spaning over 1k words
