I made a comic about running, law school and being Asian for @newyorkermag - read the whole long thing at the link in my stories/bio. ✨ I scraped this out of my head in the weeks before the anniversary of the Atlanta shooting and I'm glad it made it out in time for AAPI Heritage Month. The voice in my head told me this was a self indulgent vanity project that no one needed to see, but I'm lucky to exist in a time with other Asian artists leading the way and showing me that we have to make space for our own stories, however that looks. I am a 2022 Pulitzer Prize Finalist in Illustrated Reporting and Commentary, an achievement literally beyond my wildest dreams. Eternally thankful to @newyorkermag and editors' @emmaewallen @stolincokes and David Remnick for giving my cartoons a home these last two years and for believing in my work. 🌿 All I've ever wanted to do is make things that make people think and feel, and for my silly drawings to be recognized in this way is unimaginable. Still in disbelief that they could ever be considered serious journalism but so grateful for the opportunity to keep trying.
