October 1st is a day not just celebrated by the residents of The Steppes, but by superhumans and humans alike all over the world. It marks the official end of the war between the two groups, an end to the violence against all parties, an end to the capture of and experimentation on superhumans. Perhaps not a complete end to the divide, but a step towards mending the gap between the species. So, of course, it's only right that we stand up and celebrate the day with our community and remind ourselves what we fought for: our family, our friends, and our neighbors.
The people of The Steppes have heeded that call and held a celebration every year for the last five years, each one bigger than the last. Food, beverages, and entertainment are funded by the generous Grimm siblings and just after the sunset, people from all walks of life gather around to watch the elaborate pyrotechnics show.
With each party becoming more grandiose as time goes by, residents are urged not to miss the festivities. I know I wouldn't. I mean, you should hear some of the things I've seen already...
(While this is by no means all you can write for the event, we thought it would be fun to offer some potential party happenings to get the ball rolling. To enter, send an ask to the main with both the primary spot you want for your muse as well as a secondary choice in case your first is already taken. We will update this page with the muses' names as they are sent in, but anyone taking part in a two person prompt will have to wait for both halves of the prompt to be filled before they'll know who their partner is. After their father left when they were young and their mother raised them on her own, he felt like he need to take care of his mother and younger brother
Wes was never interested in the war, but his brother was. he was torn from protecting his brother and staying with his mother. In the end it was his mom who made the choice for him. Asking him to take care of his younger brother. something he’s still doing to this day.
Coming home to find their mother had passed tore Wes apart. Only blaming himself, after all if he stayed home maybe she’d still be alive. He didn’t have time to be broken, he needed to keep moving forward for Ben and himself.
Wes took a job at nocturne, He felt his strength was put to better use there. Throwing the scum out rather and protecting the girls there than when he used it in the war.
Wes just wants the best for his brother, the last family he has left. Sometimes that leads to wes being overbearing.

While emerald is a good fighter, and can back up her words with her hands after the war she's feels she's more suited for a more relaxed life.That being said, though... her and her ex where dealing with some shady things. They do whatever they want really! Sometimes they go on missions to gather supplies, other times they fight off outlaws that raid the city. They can visit the bars or the roller rink. The whole city is available to them, and they run the place (under Grimm's authority that is).
Plant manipulation, power replication, invisibility, siren song, aura manipulation, light manipulation, mass manipulation, telekinesis, ink manipulation, air manipulation, electricity manipulation, water manipulation, weather manipulation, super speed, and teleportation.
There are quite a few there but we're excited about the potential of all of them!
What has happened to the religions of the world since the emergence of superhumans? Has it waned to the point of disappearing, completely gone except for the devout few, or have the various leaders doubled down on their beliefs and rallied the believers?
Hello! After speaking to the admins we discussed that religion could still be very big in other towns, it just isn’t that big of a deal in the Steppes, due in part to the general dubious morality of those who settle there. In the beginning when people were getting powers some religions saw it as the mark of the devil while others had the opposite feeling and both sides tried to use that to sway others to their opinions. There were even a few fanatical groups who worshipped superhumans as deities on earth, but thankfully those burned out quickly with most superhumans wanting nothing to do with them.
While there’s no one holding Sunday sermons in The Steppes currently, there is a small church for those who are so inclined to visit it and someone seems to be looking after the upkeep of the building even if no one in town knows who.

BIO
Grew up on the edge of an affluent neighborhood, but was looked down upon by those who lived there. Learned the value of hard work while watching the people who had the life she wanted day after day.
Accidentally started a fire after gaining her powers and burned the family home to the ground, killing her parents. Her little sister was whisked away by CPS and she hasn't been able to find her since.
While she wasn't prosecuted for the accident, the government used guilt associated with it against her and the location of her sister to have her defend the humans in the war. It finally sunk in one day that they were all a bunch of liars with broken promises. She quickly switched sides after listening to the speeches from Donovan Bradley, inspired and ready for the world to be calm once again.
While managing anger issues from the trauma she suffered before and during her gaining powers along with the war, she's a caring person deep down and will defend those that matter to her with her life.
With the war over, she found a refuge and home in The Steppes. No one to ask any questions, or ask about her and her life. Hopefully, no one asking her about the occasional area in The Wasteland that looks like a meteor struck and left nothing but glass behind...

She kept the special suit the military made for her when she worked for them, it won't burn off her body like normal clothing.
She almost never uses her powers which has caused a number of issues for her due to the power building up and also because of her anger. She hasn't told anyone that she sneaks off to The Wastelands in the middle of the night to let her powers explode, scared that she might be considered a danger to the city and told to leave the only place that's felt like home in years.
Living in The Outskirts in a converted shipping container, she likes not having that many neighbors but does enjoy the ones she has even if she doesn't talk to them much.
She learned how to bartend only after moving to The Steppes, the only job that didn't make her entirely hate the world and let her be amused most days with people watching.
