Perpetuating the idea that bugs are inherently gross and not "real" food and need to be censored does affect me, an environmentalist with pet bugs. It also actually affects everyone because cultural hatred of "pest" animals leads to things like unnecessary or environmentally destructive pesticide use, lawn culture, and a host of other cultural and environmental issues with real impact.
I'm all for a sweets mode that replaces all of the ingredients with non-animal foods to eliminate the bugs and the meat pieces for those with phobias or that are even just grossed out by the atypical (by modern western culture) food options, but just removing the bugs alone feeds into the idea that these animals are deserving of being censored just for existing. Which does, actually, have real world impact.
I respect that some people have legitimate phobias, I even respect that some people are grossed out by the idea of bugs on food due to cultural norms, but bugs (and other animals like snakes and rodents) are animals that is societally acceptable and culturally ingrained to hate, despite most of them being entirely harmless to humans. This benefits and is intentionally perpetuated by capitalism and even actual white supremacy.
On the surface, it doesn't sound that deep, but if you actually look into the history behind some of these things you'll see how far it goes. Lawn culture, HOAs, city ordinances forcing you to have pristine non-native grass lawns because "long grass attracts ticks/mosquitoes/rodents/snakes" (only marginally true). Wild food sources and native species being eliminated and replaced with "pristine" species. Native predators being killed to protect non-native livestock. etc etc etc. It is all connected. So, yeah, I think it's unfair to ask for bugs to be censored as though they are innately gross or scary just because it's a common irrational phobia. (I do not say "irrational" as a dig or a judgment, most phobias ARE irrational. I have irrational phobias as well.) Still, the option for a sweets mode I am 100% for, it solves the problem of NOT picking bugs or the weird meat ingredients out as "lesser" foods while still allowing those with phobias to avoid seeing those ingredients.
they should make a second dressing room for ancients and hatchlings so you can preview skins on them. they could call it like. the skin room or something. idk either way i feel like they need their own little preview station because having them as an option in the "dressing room" when you can't add apparel to them is a bit odd

Ancients already can be opened in the Dressing Room to try on skins. Staff said hatchlings would be added to it when hatchling skins were first released but it just... still hasn't happened. Honestly surprised that it doesn't get brought up more. There is a workaround though, you can save a scry of a hatchling, save a different dressing room outfit with just one scry and one skin, open image in new tab, and then edit the URL to the hatchling scry and hatchling skin IDs.

I'm usually with you anon, but we haven't had any new space in 7 months. None for the Thorntail launch, none for the Bamboo Falls update, none in between. My lair is constantly maxed and I want to be excited but I have no space to do it
Do Not hotlink images from toyhouse or tumblr as a solution! It's like y'all forgot about what happened with discord barely over a year ago. They could (and would be well within their rights to) break the links at any time with no warning. Like yeah it can happen with actual image hosts too (imgur...) but at least they're DESIGNED to host images.

why would toyhouse, a site explicitly for storing art of characters, remove the ability for you to link images to your characters??
If anyone wants an image hosting alternative this is what my solution has been for years (ive used this both for flight rising as well as personal/small scale websites) make a toyhouse account (you need a sign up code but people routinely hand them out for free, you can either ask r/toyhouse for a code or check the tumblr tags for free codes), make a private character on your toyhouse and name it something like "commissions" and post all the commissions you make to that character's gallery and use that for your embeds on fr. If you want to host graphics make another character and name it graphics etc. They do have a file size limit but you can embed toyhouse images from private profiles with no limitation and it is by far the best way to organize assets you create even if it isnt what the website was made for originally. the main problem with this method is definitely the file size limit but you can still make it work. there is no limit on how many images you can upload to a given gallery either.

I use toyhou.se for my image hosting and love it, super easy to organize everything. The downside though is there's NO way to upload multiple images at once. You have to manually upload each image and, if you're not the artist, credit the artist individually. So it may not be a super fun process to switch over to th if you have 100s or 1000s of images to host.

It's considered a line breaker but I will request it for moderns until the end of time. It breaks the lines LESS than Spines and Sparkle on all poses and less than Keel on some poses. Gembond and Scales also break the lines about the same amount. It should be on Moderns and I will die on this hill.
